My spirit animal is a mini truck. It has a meep meep for everyday tooting around and a fog horn for those special occasions. I have the arooga, air horn and standard on my Fiesta, because it's not a real person like a mini truck. Also those don't fit but they are in there :D

Mini-truck needs that Plymouth Road Runner horn as primary... and the '56 Buick as a secondary (as needed). LOVE me some LEDs, completely transformed my '90 Dakota when I installed a set. Love 'em on my Tahoe as well. Need 'em fer my murdersickle now too.

Cool stuff, that choke was an easy fix. Solder here crimps there, your sending a mixed message. Don't get in a rush to get so many videos out if it takes away from the quality detail you started the series with. I'd hate to see the thumbs down go away. I do like these headlights, nice choice.

I ran into the same problem three hot wires and no ground I was going to go and just hook up switches with relays but I senior video and tried it work like a charm thanks a lot

My chevy tracker has a fuse for each side of the headlights but if one goes out the both go screwy. I found this out while wiring some light bars recently. I thought my highbeams sucked so I got two 7" 480w light bars mounted them in my grill and wired them to my highbeams. I love them.

Nice work ! I think you should put flexible mud - guards behind the front wheels, wide enough to protect the engine area from mud and water, when you turn the big tires you have. Red should be a good idea for a "girl"!

FYI you can use the gold plated solderless connectors that will fit those relays perfectly for those not good at soldering. oreillys sells them. i used the same method as you and the lights worked great.

Damn good Job my Mini wants your wiring diagram he needs new Lights. You are doing very good on your Mini Truck. I like the progress. I am surprised you don't have 10mil Japanese Subs wanting to upgrade theirs.

I put a bigger better horn on my micro van once, did not workout how I thought it would. When I would use the horn, people would look right past my micro van. They could not equate the big horn sound with the micro van, they were looking for some sort of Big Toyota or Cadillac or something LOL. I eventually just got a LOUDER Meep Meep horn for Motorcycles, like 120 decibels loud, people hear that horn and they equate the sound with the micro van. Cheers from Tokyo!

RE: LED Lights... makes total sense in retrospect; that truck was built during the 'pre-LED' auto era, so the power & wiring was assembled accordingly. This video should serve a warning to anybody else dealing with a similar electrical setup... different tech means different wiring sensibilities. P.S. -- as to the other horns, unless you fab up a conveniently-placed secondary horn trigger, I'd stay with Mini-truck's 'signature' horn call. ;-)

Looks like there are 100W xenon headlamp bulbs (super white, not yellow) for the Hijet on eBay with LED turn signal bulbs. Less than $20 for two headlamp bulbs and two turn signal bulbs delivered from the UK. That might be a good cheap drop-in lighting upgrade without the relays, soldering, crimped butt connectors and electrical tape. There is also one pair of LED headlamp bulbs for the Hijet but it was over $130.

Bud it was good to see you solder and not crimp but if I went to the trouble to solder I would have used heat shrink tubing.

Also,you may find that the turn signals will flash fast. This is because the LEDs in the new lamp present a smaller load than normal bulbs. The solution is to replace the flasher relay with a electronic one. If your truck uses a typical three-prong unit, the Novita/Tridon EP 34 (available at most auto parts stores) will work. It is a JSO-specification unit designed to work on Japanese vehicles. DO NOT use the EP 35 unit! It has the ISO-spec pinout used in US cars!

You should relocate your air intake next. Do a snorkel. Also should probably address the surface rust around the truck. Youve put all this nice stuff on, it be ashame if the truck rusted out.

You need to switch to the self soldering buttsplice connectors. Slip connector over one wire, lineman's splice the wires together, position the solder bead in the connector over the splice and hit it with a heat gun.

The new lights are awesome, props for doing them right the first time. Are you gonna do led lights in the back too? I did them on my datsun pickup, made a big difference for rear visibility. How long do the Zetronix glasses last on a full charge? At 8:19, Mini kinda looks like when Stark puts on his Iron Man helmet and the eyes come on. Great video again.

i did a led conversion on a van once. you need to buy a thing called LED decoder in order for it to work. its available on amazon.

Next Moto installs the Flux capacitor on Mini-Truck and travels back in time. He has the Japanese change the wiring harness and auto choke.

Wiring info very helpful for some jobs I'm doing on my minitruck. Do you have any idea where the hazard light wires come into the cab? Or where the door wiring harness comes in and under the dashboard? The manual isn't clear, and it's so small down there it's difficult to see, without removing the whole dash. Thanks for the vids.

You need an aftermarket harness from The Ack Store (acksfaq.com/ackstore ). Your mini truck, like many older Japanese vehicles has a negatively-switched headlight assembly. Us Samuari owners deal with it all the time! (The link has been fixed... sorry about that...)

Mr. Cheez I need help with my Apollo that loves to go through rear tubes. Do you have any videos on your Chinese bikes how to do the replacement yourself since both shops and about 70 bucks later I'm on my 3rd popped tube. I am very mechanically inclined and have the tools that I need but something about getting the new tube in there and the tire seated without ripping the living crap out of the new tube... I believe I have a Spoke sticking out why else would it have popped its third tube?
