@@Luffy31236 bro the fact that he streams doesnt mean he doesnt care about chess. I really dont know where do people get this idea from. He still takes chess extremely seriouslty and had a very good year in terms of winning championships. He just has the mindset of a champion in one of the most psychological games that exists. You cannot let your emotions affect your play or you will loose all games as soon as you get behind. This level of cold headed attitude is what it takes, its not that he "doesnt care" because he is just a content creator. Like please, its not like tis one or the other. People can be both and he was defenitaly nailing post game interviews with a cold objective analysis much before he became a streamer.

Less consistency kept Tal from repeating. His was health. Ivanchuk and Ljubojevic are examples of other inconsistent players, but Ivanchuk could actually play at the top where Ljubo wasn't quite there. So, consistent top-level play is really special.

Karthik almost had realistic chances in the last game, i think he was his worst enemy because the position was in itself tricky and engine lines were needed, like crazy engine moves to hold the game into a draw there in the end. I wonder if the position would have been different what would have happened because he had found the right continuation but in order to win he had to find crazy engine move because of which he collapsed as was the case to hold a draw

@magnusnorgren7474 not only in India but also everywhere else, the top guys don't really play national championships except for special occasions, these are after all low-incentive high-risk tournaments not good for pockets and bad for ratings, Giri played and won this year's dutch championship after many years because it was some anniversary occasion and even then he lost a lot of rating, US championships is likely an exception though.
