Happy Camp Canyon Loop is a trail in Moorpark (close to Simi Valley) that is used for hiking, equestrian and mountain biking and can be done as a loop or even a there and back hike. The trail provides wild flowers and views from the ridge line.

I did this one on Sunday for the first time, and was planning to do it before I ran across your video right before I went. I forgot the book and the map when I went 2 days ago, but because of this video and another and me doing a good review before the hike, I did it. I did not have time to do the whole loop and stopped well before the picnic tables before the trail turns south and up the mountain, my recon was well worth it. How long did the hike take you at a casual pace?

Took us about 4 hours 20 mins and our splits were an average of 22 min miles. I would say add about 5 hours if you are just casually going and that's for the loop. the there and back version is super easy, it wasnt till you loop up the mountain and back down that the hike got challenging

@@MySoCalledAdventures thanks for that. I’m photographing all the parks for the county and wasn’t sure the time investment to do the whole thing. Would you say most of the photogenic stuff is up towards the top of the hills?

@@johnbmueller I would probably do the hike in reverse and not the entire thing. The climb up the way I went was pretty steep and the decent was slower. Then from the ridge you should get a pretty nice landscape of the entire area. In the valley there was that interesting water tank and old equipment.
