My only opportunity to tackle this hike also happened to be on a wind advisory day during an otherwise calm week. I arrived by 7am on a Thursday to an empty trailhead and was immediately blown away with the conditions, so I huddled in my car another hour. Gusts were hitting 50mph easily and temps reached mid 60s at the highest.
I look forward to doing this again when temps are higher and a bit more balanced so I can properly swim and enjoy the waters. When I say my feet were frozen, they seriously were. Mountains had plenty of snow still. This was fun but exhausting as I was constantly battling the elements. What a miserable lunch I had!
I edited the hell outta this since I've been sitting on it for so long - just glad to finally have it off my plate!
