I don't mind the camps, but this is trashy. There's no reason to have all that crap every where. Place looks like it should be burned. It's ridiculous to be in nature but not care about the nature. Humans have lived in the wild for thousands of years, but this is criminal to destroy mother nature in this manner.

I was homeless in Keystone Heights, FL for about 6 months, in the woods. Gotta have mosquito netting, there’s not enough bug spray in the world to protect you 24/7. I never understood the garbage thing. I always carried mine out or burned it. Garbage attracts flies & mosquitoes, as if they’re not bad enough already. I’ve seen some nasty homeless camps, met some nasty people. They say misery loves company. And nobody asks you more questions than someone trying to size you up and rip you off. I couldn’t stay in those places, I’d walk an extra mile to avoid them. There are some good people in homeless camps but they are few and far between. Came across this one woman living in the woods. She was hooked up with some guy she clearly didn’t want to be with. The expressions on her face, her demeanor around me, it was as if she was begging me to rescue her from the situation she was in. But what could I do, I was homeless too. I caught the guy gone one day, I told her I was headed to Kentucky and she could tag along. But she didn’t want to leave Florida. Once a person gets comfortable in a situation, no matter how bad it is, they cling to it. I kept in touch with her via text messages for about a year. Not every day, just when she’d message me. Even when I got my own place she couldn’t leave. She was terrified of the unknown, terrified of riding a bus 800 miles to where I live, terrified it wouldn’t work out. So she stayed there in the misery she was in. Haven’t heard from her in 2 years. I hope she got out of her situation. But I doubt it.
@Babu-kr3cr2 күн бұрын
She probably got killed by that crazy guy. Sometimes people don't want to be rescued, they just want enough help to help themselves and figure things out for themselves. Sometimes what they need is emotional support. You have to be strong enough mentally and emotionally to say I want something better.

When the local paper found out, the town council had it removed, but they all came back. They have nowhere else to go especially now that the rooming houses and low-cost apartments are gone. I know they are still there because I was walking on a hiking trail and could see them across the river. Great work in documenting the situation on the ground, but be extremely careful out there. Some of these people feel as if they have nothing more to lose, and there's nothing more dangerous than messing with someone who believes that they have nothing less to lose and have been kicked-while-down for the very last time. The possible danger is well beyond what most people can imagine or envision, as they themselves have never been pushed down so far. It could be drug traffickers who receive their drugs by small boat.

If you can't handle the heat, mosquitos, and restrictions...travel to somewhere that doesn't have those.

This is a trashpile. The scariest part are the children's belongings. Hope it's not child trafficking.

The first camp I can see some issues that could be a huge problem, with all the clutter of crates, baskets ect will cause some rodent issues if they are not careful, they use it for shelter.

Great reporting. On a few other vids i watched _you have compassion and or empathy. Your heart is good Thank You. Be safe. The bee keep helmut and plus a holster with wasp spray (can be done). Dual purpose : for the insects and for self defense; it has a long range. 👍

You can have a camp and have a clean organized camp and you would have less mosquitoes in horse flies I live in Louisiana and we are the definition of swamps yeah people that live in homes that have this kind of trash you can be poor and homeless and be clean
@lauramater628Күн бұрын
I stay in a cabin on river I keep it clean. I like to be organized. When camping anywhere I clean up, it helps if your discoverd you can get charges for environmental hazards for trash and such. Up here in ga. It is easy to get in a bad position if caught , especially if you trash it up.

No one. Those saintly homeless just trash one place until it is unloveable, then go on and trash different place. Those ingenious homeless campers can't figure out how to carry a bag of trash to a dumpster.

This is really bad because people can catch cholera downstream if they are canoeing or fishing. I feel sorry for the people but we need solutions to this.
