I don't mind the camps, but this is trashy. There's no reason to have all that crap every where. Place looks like it should be burned. It's ridiculous to be in nature but not care about the nature. Humans have lived in the wild for thousands of years, but this is criminal to destroy mother nature in this manner.

Today , just for today , pretend like you have no place to properly dispose of anything you don't want . Pretend that you have no cupboards , no shelves and not much money if any .. There's a lot of these camps in Florida. With the Federal law against encampment in any public place ( like city , county , state Park , etc) it's hard telling what will happen to thousands not to mention illegals coming in .. help someone with a place to live , volunteer at local Salvation Army , food bank , etc . Make a decision to be the change you want to see ❤

@@lynncollver6067 my wife and I were displaced from our residence for over a decade because our landlady died and the real estate company took over evicting everyone who couldn't pay their 2800 a month that was 3X the original rental. Do I need to mention we live in Las Vegas where it's currently 115? We pick up trash constantly. Besides cleanliness , the city or parks and recreation will save on Rodent and other expenses

Actually, you are more right than you will ever know. We are already there. We, all of us, are already feral if you really look deeply into the issue. Just look at rural America and how all of our precious parks are being destroyed by people who are modern day feral. Really, I am not kidding. Don't believe me if you like, just talk to any Forest Ranger or take a ride into any abandoned town. What you see is modern day feral.

I was homeless in Keystone Heights, FL for about 6 months, in the woods. Gotta have mosquito netting, there’s not enough bug spray in the world to protect you 24/7. I never understood the garbage thing. I always carried mine out or burned it. Garbage attracts flies & mosquitoes, as if they’re not bad enough already. I’ve seen some nasty homeless camps, met some nasty people. They say misery loves company. And nobody asks you more questions than someone trying to size you up and rip you off. I couldn’t stay in those places, I’d walk an extra mile to avoid them. There are some good people in homeless camps but they are few and far between. Came across this one woman living in the woods. She was hooked up with some guy she clearly didn’t want to be with. The expressions on her face, her demeanor around me, it was as if she was begging me to rescue her from the situation she was in. But what could I do, I was homeless too. I caught the guy gone one day, I told her I was headed to Kentucky and she could tag along. But she didn’t want to leave Florida. Once a person gets comfortable in a situation, no matter how bad it is, they cling to it. I kept in touch with her via text messages for about a year. Not every day, just when she’d message me. Even when I got my own place she couldn’t leave. She was terrified of the unknown, terrified of riding a bus 800 miles to where I live, terrified it wouldn’t work out. So she stayed there in the misery she was in. Haven’t heard from her in 2 years. I hope she got out of her situation. But I doubt it.
@Babu-kr3cr
@Babu-kr3cr 2 күн бұрын
She probably got killed by that crazy guy. Sometimes people don't want to be rescued, they just want enough help to help themselves and figure things out for themselves. Sometimes what they need is emotional support. You have to be strong enough mentally and emotionally to say I want something better.

I live in my suburban, so homeless currently, and I can't imagine living around other homeless people. However, I can't imagine trying to rent a room so no one has to see and be bothered by my homelessness either... Sexual harassment and then criminal harassment is the result of multiple attempts to become housed. So basically, I can't be around the homeless and I can't have rental transactions with corporate or private criminals... So I'm just stuck. I love you the people and communities that are "afraid of me." I live in my Suburban and am victimized by literally everyone but everyone is afraid and suspicious of me. Not everyone but most... Direct experience of fascism is eye-opening.

Katie was back there too? Those horseflies are oppressive, they feel like you are bitten with teeth and leave a huge welt. If it is a swamp, that means it regularly floods? There are probably alligators back there also. There might even be panthers. It is amazing and sad all the garbage that piles up. Animals live in the wild without any stuff, but humans collect so much, it turns into a dump. When people help the homeless by constantly giving them things, this is the result. They end up with a hoarder mentality or just don't have a way to dispose of trash.

Where I live is a camp behind a Walmart that has been there for decades. The local police know about it and leave them alone. They keep it tidy and cook there and sleep there. When the local paper found out, the town council had it removed, but they all came back. They have nowhere else to go especially now that the rooming houses and low-cost apartments are gone. I know they are still there because I was walking on a hiking trail and could see them across the river. They actually had an exercise bike, like someone was riding it by the water, but when I came back again on the return trip, they moved it back. They probably saw me looking at it.

Awesome compound that you ran into there! Obviously a veteran. You are very lucky that this was, most-likely, the camp of a younger veteran. As one of the older generation, an O.G. from Vietnam War may have set some rather troublesome, "susprizes" for you, things like a Punji Stick Pit! Great work in documenting the situation on the ground, but be extremely careful out there. Some of these people feel as if they have nothing more to lose, and there's nothing more dangerous than messing with someone who believes that they have nothing less to lose and have been kicked-while-down for the very last time. The possible danger is well beyond what most people can imagine or envision, as they themselves have never been pushed down so far. Anyhow, thank you for this video and be respectful and very careful my friend.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS That makes sense. If they can get in a building, they can sleep in a stairwell or hallway. That is an old trick from the city. I don't know what they do out in the woods if they can't stay hidden. It is easier to hide if you leave no trace.
