Leaving Sandsend at high tide I quickly arrive in Whitby and take a walk out on to the harbour walls before climbing the 199 steps to visit the abbey.
From there I make my way along the cliff edges to Robin Hood's Bay before returning to sea a low tide for a walk along the beach.

You certainly cover the miles going back to your car each day. I have walked from Ravenscar to Staithes. I was based in Whitby and I walked the Old Railway line from Whitby to Ravenscar then back along the Cleveland way to Whitby. It was a huge day and I was completely done in at the end of it. Then I did Whitby to Staithes and caught the bus back to Whitby, quite a n easy day. Now I need to finish the two end bits. (The old railway line goes all the way to Scarborough and is a nice easy (fast) walk.)

Hi Daniel. I just completed watching the 7 parts showing your walk of the Cleveland Way. Thanks for sharing this with us. Question: Did you ever go back to Robin Hood's Bay and complete the Cleveland Way down to the end at Filey? Comments: 1. I like your personal approach in your narration 2. I was impressed with how much you know about each area in which you hiked 3. I was also impressed with your keeping going, in spite of the weather 4. The Cleveland Way looks interesting, including inland and coast walking I noticed your Appalachian Trail (AT) hat. I have been section-hiking the AT for many years and am now at the 900 mile point. Now that I'm retired, I hope to finish the trail. I have documented the hikes thus far on my channel (Ken Brenner) in a playlist, in case you'd like to see what I've done thus far. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to other hiking videos. Thanks, and safe hiking! God Bless, Ken

Hi Ken, yes I do plan on going back and finishing this series and beginning a new one on the Yorkshire Wolds Way! I don't know when I'll get started on it, as this was actually the last hiking video I made and the last time I actually went for a hike, so I am very out of shape right now. Well done on your progress on the AT, I hope you make it to Katahdin in the end

Do you always walk there and back again to your car? Sounds exhausting!

+MetaPat Sometimes I do! I've caught buses and the train to get back, but it usually involves at least a little bit of walking. Doing 10+ miles and then turning around and doing it all again gets pretty tiring
