In this video, I tell you about the Apennine Mountains, which not many people know about. I live in the most mountainous region of the Apennines - Abruzzo. And the hiking trails over here (in my opinion) compete with the Alps. But the best thing about them is that they aren't hiked by many people. Most of the time, I only see farmers while hiking or filming videos. This place is only known by Italians, so not a lot of tourists and hikers go here.
Specifically, I show you how we (almost) climbed up the highest peak in the Apennine Mountains, called the Corno Grande, sitting at 2912m altitude. North Italy is mostly flat with the exception of the Alps, but here the mountains are all around us. So you should definitely put Abruzzo on your bucket list if you enjoy hiking in remote places. In fact, there are many other beautiful smaller mountain ranges here, not only Gran Sasso, including Sierra de Majella, Sirente-Velino, and Parco Nazionale D'Abruzzo.
