If you look at trail reports from a year ago for Granite Lakes, you'll notice that the entire trail was 100% covered in snow. But here we are February 3rd and the trail was completely snow free.
Usually you would need snowshoes to get to Granite Lakes in the winter, but this year it is just like a regular hike. So if you are in the mood for a hike through the forest, without having to worry about snow, Granite Lakes is the hike for you!
The hike is about 8.8 miles with 2200' of elevation, so it is a good little hike to do. Roundtrip was about 3.5 hours for us!
