Thank you for a wonderful presentation that was both easy and enjoyable to follow along. I'm a 65 year old man who has climbed upon the Hollywood sign letters with good friends back in the 70's at a time when it was easy to do so still, if you were respectful and stealthy that is. We had to watch out for rattlesnakes though, if we went during the daylight hours. Hello from Maine. I finally decided to leave LA after the Northridge earthquake. I should at least go back for a visit if I ever could. There's a lot I miss. But Maine is pretty and pretty tranquil. Metropolis kinda tore me all apart. Lots and lots happening in that particular city, I'll tell ya.

thanks for watching. I grew up in Glendale, remember the Northridge earthquake very well, I too climbed to the Hollywood Sign, went up from where the last house on Mulholland was, this was early in the 2000s, now they have sensors there, and didn't get to behind the sign until a few years ago. This is a main reason why I do this channel, so people can reach these locations instead of just seeing a picture on the gram and wondering where , how long, how steep the hike is. Maine must be beautiful, I'm sure there's plenty of beautiful hikes and vistas out there. See u in the trails, or maybe we have ran into each other in the trails before in LA. Happy hiking

@@hikeronatrail I like hiking to Switzer Falls, and Bronson Park with the Batcave was a hangout for us too. I'm mostly from Eagle Rock more than I am Glendale, but I did live 10 years in Glendale in the mid 80's - mid 90's. Eagle Rock, Highland Park and Monterey Park was before that. I've also lived in Oregon, Washington(Seattle), Wisconsin(Milwaukee), Florida(Orlando/Hernando), and Texas(Galveston Island). I've had so many 'lives' that it's pathetic, either that or a sweet blessing. Travel and relocation makes us wiser. Less prejudice and judgmental. Most people here in Maine were from Maine when I moved back here in '98. Now, there's people moving here from all over the map. It good living here. Maine isn't that 'remote' and it doesn't go without anything that I can tell. The air is sweet and tasty, the water out of the faucet unfiltered from Sebago Lake. The crime cuter than in metropolis, too. I forgot, we also used to enjoy driving up to Mt. Wilson. I can't recall if I've been to Wickiup or not. The LA area has so many things to see, places to go, choices to pick. My family first arrived there in '65. I might have one more decent 'relocate' in me. The winters are annoying my health. That pesters my peace of mind. I'm a 'southern boy' as it is. An old friend invited me to Maine and I'm thankful and happy I have gotten to experience it here. I always talk myself right out of moving after comparing the advantages and disadvantages moving some other place has to offer... I can only take my best guesses though. Moving always does have it's little surprises you could or would have never counted on. I've had mostly good neighbors here and I can't say that easily about some other places I've lived. I'll end with that. It's nice to comment with you, by the way.

Hi mate, great video. So to get to the gate at top of Deronda Drive, did you just walk from Dog Park straight up Mulholland? Thanks mate, and greetings from Sunshine Coast, Australia.
@hikeronatrail
@hikeronatrail Жыл бұрын
That's correct, and gate is open from sunrise to sunset, at least from what the sign says. After sunset you can exit, come out, but not enter.

Hey there How long will it take to travel from the split path (Vista Point & Mt Lee drive) to the summit at Mt Lee Drive. Would it be an hour? Or… ~40 mins
@hikeronatrail
@hikeronatrail Жыл бұрын
it took us about 40 minutes from the Hollywood Sign Vista to the back of the Hollywood Sign, I would say we are in average shape. The last part is steep so takes others longer. see u in the trails

Do the gates lock right at sunset? How do people get sunrise and sunset photos here?
@hikeronatrail
@hikeronatrail Жыл бұрын
i went in before sunset. You can go out the gates after sunset if you are already in. But you cant go in, supposedly they lock automatically.
