On the south rim above Yosemite Valley, just south of Glacier Point are both Sentinel Dome and Taft Point trails. Individually, both trails make for an easy 2ish-mile out-n-back hike, offering epic landscape scenery at their respective end-points.
Having hiked both of these on a previous trip as separate hikes, we decided to make a loop out of it this time around, using a 2.4 mile section of the Pohono Trail that connects them, creating a nearly 6 mile hike, packed with visual splendor and plenty of places to hang-out and feel like you've got the place all to yourself if you care to seek them out.
You'll want to arrive early (ideally by about 830am) to get a parking spot at the trail head lot. It's hit or miss if you arrive much later than that... So, pack a lunch, plenty of water and some trail mix and prepare for a visual experience that will leave you with a lifetime of fond memories.
The majority of this video was filmed using the Osmo Mobile 2 smartphone gimbal. The new Osmo Mobile 3 is now here and is even better! Check it out: click.dji.com/...
