An added bonus of the Hill Pump 3000 is the Silicon oil as you may have noticed when you bleed the pump of air/water it feels slightly oily, that is a small amount of Silicon oil, that end up in your Gun/tank and in such small amounts is a bonus for the Gun internals even with the tiny amount of water.

sorry for asking after so long but this comment alarmed me. I use my compressor to fill paintball HPA tanks. Are you saying that oil gets into the HPA tank? Because exposing oils to high pressurised tanks can cause explosions i heard.

@@gavinwilln7571 Thank you very much for replying from an old comment. Greatly appreciated, its just currently I am really worried even scared about filling this thing and ends up exploding my HPA tank. So by not combustible even IF the oil gets into the fill nipple and inside the HPA tank it shouldn't explode then?

@@astroeclipse5392 Correct, Hill Pumps use the silicon oil as a lubricant for the high pressure stage of their pump, and they do not explode. I do have worries with some people who use motor oil in the Chinese pumps that are common at present. In my view that is a risk not worth taking. I only use purpose made compressor oil in the one I have, as indeed I use the same oil in my low pressure compressor at work, as stated by the makers. Not worth the risk not to.

Happy to help David (and great choice, this really is a luxury home compressor), plus the video description includes where to find the in-line moisture filter I also bought. Nearly a year on this compressor's still here, so before each use I just change-out the consumable dessicant filter in that for a fresh one, and away you go. Cheers. Russ

Had mine for 10 months use it 4 days a week it’s flawless I did have 1 issue but that’s because my Brain wasn’t working i had it the garage in winter and wouldn’t turn on because the sensor knew it was to cold moved to the home problem solved🤪 I can honestly say it’s the best air gun accessorise I have ever owned yes not cheap but so worth it at £5 a 5 litre refill 3 to 4 week I’m saving £80 a month so in a year it’s almost paid for it’s self and with petrol costs and travelling times it’s so worth it just my take Ofc.

Hi Russ Another great review. Was pleased to see this, as I'm not at all familiar with compressor filling and they had very little coverage in the press ( Well not in the mags I bought). Expensive outlay though even at the cheapest model. Enjoyed your written piece on the 10m pistol comp with your Baikal and Weihrauch pistols. Keep up the great work!! Regards Snowflake the 2nd

Awesome! 👏 Although the EC3000 includes an excellent condenser & moisture trap, I highly recommend an inline dessicant filter too, like the one I used here. After noticing a little discolouration in mine after use I now change the dessicant filter after each bottle fill, just to be absolutely confident no moisture's getting through. Cheers. Russ

Hello and thank-you John, I actually still have this same pump here at home on long-term loan, and it's still working perfectly. 👌 All I do is keep an eye on the crank case oil (which hasn't moved a millimetre as yet, though it's discoloured slightly), and change the dessicant filter in the in-line HP filter (which I bought from Amazon for extra moisture removal), each time before I switch it on for use. 🤓 Hope you also love this pump, all the best and happy shooting, cheers. hello i think if you mount the water remover ,with the outlet side up ,it wil work even better the only thing i dont like of the hill 3000 ,is the place where you have to open the degassing release , ,the escaping air with silicon and water will blow where you are close with your face . i hold a towel around it .to prevent breathing the silicon water. fog, i only top up divingtanks and cilinders , they are standing up ,and from there i file the pcp guns . .less water in the gun that way.and cool air

Is your 7 litre tank completely empty?. Because as i understand it they are saying don't "Fill" anything over 3 litres. And as all we do is take the top pressure off our bottles i would of thought topping up a 7 , 12 or even 15 litre bottle would be o.k you would only be "Topping" off a bottle ... would that be wrong?
@RussDouglas222
@RussDouglas222 Жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, I believe the issue is the bigger the tank the greater the back pressure/volume that presents, so whether you're topping-up or filling from empty (which is unlikely), either way you should not fill any cylinder greater than 7L with this pump. Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

Do you have to drain the fluids after every use
@RussDouglas222

No, only before you move the unit, and when you change them every 50 hours of use, or 12 months (whichever comes first). Trust me 50hours is a LOT of use, I know gun shops that are nowhere near that. It's an awesome comprsssor! Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

That's simply specified in the instructions, so I didn't argue. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I'd guess it's because the lubricant return is gravity-fed, but that's more a question for the Engineers in long trousers (than me). 🤓 Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

So the compressor is simply connected to any air bottle with the decanting coupling? No need to buy a different DIN connector? I see that you can actually top up bottles up to 7 litres. Yes of course this would take time and may be done in stages not like your smaller air bottle, but I am still trying to confirm that the DIN filling station is the same and I don't need to purchase a 'two-way' Din connector. Also my brand new EC 3000 goes up to 310 bar or 4500 psi which is great for some American pop's!

Hi Simon, I think as it came the fill hose ended in a standard male thread, to which I added a Best Fittings female QD, and that worked well ever since. Yep up to 7litres and it can be left to manage itself, as it automatically pauses when cooling is required. Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ
