I started the process at 60, just had a hearing finally and will be 63 shortly after I get the judge’s decision. Even with massive amounts of medical records, a markedly abnormal recent MRI, abnormal EMG/NCS, 30 PT appointments, pain management for epidurals (3 this time) and another back surgery to be scheduled soon I’m not sure I will qualify. The judge seems to think I can do a sedentary job as a physician assistant even though I can’t make it through dinner without needing to lay down for 30 minutes for pain control. I don’t know. I think they just want me to give up and retire. I miss my job, I made great money and made a difference in many lives too.

Bless you and prayers. I'm hoping you will be approved. I had worked 39 years as a nurse. I had great difficulty with arthritis in my back and knees but I kept working. Covid in December left me with two pulmonary embolism and now 5 months later still dependent on oxygen. I'm being evaluated for CTEPH ? Most days I can barely walk. I applied in January and expecting a denial as I've heard that's usually the case. I am praying you get great news !

That is weird as at 62 you could retire early and get regular Social Security so I don't understand why this judge would be jerking you around as the 29.7% saving (at 62) isn't that much and boarder between 201.07/.08 and 201.06 is very fuzzy,

It took me a long time to get approved, I finally had to get a lawyer to win my case. And the judge said he was very disappointing that I had been denied so many times. I worked and dealt with my symptoms every day of my life for about 30 yrs that I worked, But I ran out of being tuff and I just could not deal with it any longer. I just went to the E.R. about 3 or 4 month ago. I get what I call flares and the nerve pain is unbearable to where I wish someone would just shoot me. I had a real bad happening when I was very young. I hit a brick wall at full speed on my bike. And at the time the right side of my face was damaged and it should have killed me, And all they did was sent me home after I came to from being knocked out for 47 min's and told my mom not to let me fall asleep for at least 3 to 5 hrs. And now that I am much older you can see that the right side of my face is caved in. But anyway don't give up and stay strong....

My question is...How can anyone collect any Social Security benefits if they never paid in to the "System". By allowing others who never paid in to the "System" should not be able to draw any social security benefits. There should be other government assistance for those who never paid in to the "System". Congress also should pay back what they took from Social Security with interest. Social Security is not meant to be a slush fund for congress. I do believe in a spouse receiving their parted spouse's SSA benefits.
@azcatlover
@azcatlover 2 жыл бұрын
My guess is that you would complain if they were given ANY government assistance. No matter where the money comes from, the taxpayers will have to pay for it. I for one am ok with that. Most people nowadays are between 1-2 paychecks from being homeless and that is a damn shame.
@countrymagic61
@countrymagic61 2 жыл бұрын
@@azcatlover 😂And there is your problem Dawnmarie Kruchoski (Arizona bound)!....You are guessing!. And your guess is all it is....just a guess, because you don't know nothing. Read the whole post! I'm stating Social Security should only benefit those who PAID into the system. If someone who has not PAID into the system, I stated there should be another assistance for them. So where do you get (guessing) I am complaining if ANY government assistance is given. As far as Social Security goes.....Taxpayers are not footing the bill. Social Security is funded through payroll tax deductions by the employer and employee. You need to educate yourself So my guess is... you are a DA blonde Karen thinking you actually know something and only like kickstarting others with your unknowledgeable babble. I for one know what it is like to have to do what ever it takes to make ends meet. At one time, I worked a full time job, TWO part time jobs, Army Reserves, AND being a single parent! Do you even work? Or are you receiving your husband's benefits? I can tell you don't go to school. You prove it in your post. I suggest you research how something works, function, or operates before attempting to comment about something your are in fact unknowledgeable about. Because when you do....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It shows people how dumb you really are and you give blonds (if it is your true hair color) and bad name. Also, what is a damn shame is people playing the system. Being lazy, selfish and living off of the system which is funded by tax payers. AND you are ok with this? You are ok with those type of people living off of hard working tax payers who maybe 1-2 paychecks from being homeless? I am actually a very compassionate person, and I do respect where warranted and earned. From your comment.....you lost it. However, if our paths ever cross, I wouldn't mind meeting up for breakfast or lunch and just chit chat and give you a chance to prove me wrong, and may be become friends. I don't wish you any ill will. But, you drew first blood😂😂 Dawnmarie Kruchoski (Arizona bound), I do wish you the best and God bless. Take care of Evie, it gets hot in Arizona

@countrymagic61
@countrymagic61 2 жыл бұрын
@@feralLove Really...."That people starve"???? where do you get that from the posted comment? The comment is about people who have paid in to the Social Security system and those who have not paid. SS should only be available to those who have paid in to SS. The government only oversees the SS funds (which they are doing a poor job at it). Nothing in the comments about feeding or not feeding people. There are local and state programs available for someone to get some thing to eat. You trolls make me laugh with how you read in to something that is not even there and start complaining about it. Again I will state Social Security is funded through payroll tax deductions by the employer and employee. It is not funded by the government. If you have not paid in to the system, you should not be eligible to receive social security (other than survivor benefits). You and Dmarie have read in to the posted comment and added your own trolling thoughts.🤣🤣

Our 60 year old wheelchair bound, mother recently lost her SSI social security this past December, due to issues with income resources . Social security for some unknown reason, to us . checked a bank account from two years ago , due to the amount that was in the bank account from two years ago, that money is now all gone . SSI stipulated it was overpayment, and ceased all benefits in December before to 0.00 before mom could even file an appeal. we still filed an appeal anyway, it was denied , social security wants my mother whom now has no income at all to pay back 20,000.00 dollars , in SSI overpayment. We tried to obtain a probono lawyer in my moms city , unfortunately the probono organizations in my moms city do not accept social security overpayment cases , unfortunately we can't financially support mom Are you guys willing to accept an out of state SSI case for a physically impaired senior? Took my brother writing to his congressman to get his 200% VA disability. It is scummy as all get out but it is why people don't try to improve as they fear (rightly) it will be used to remove or deny in the future.

Personally I don't think you should've put an age on this topic. I'm a 100% P&T disabled veteran, and I'm 46. I started getting SSDI (Social Security Disability) when I became 100% P&T (I think I was 33 at the time). And I know a wide age range of people who get SSDI and are nowhere near the 55yr old age that you're covering. Some see it as an age bias, because of the assumption that your have to be old to get it. And that is my reason for giving this video a thumbs down.
@imxploring
@imxploring 3 жыл бұрын
Age becomes a factor in being able to transfer skills, transition to a new field of work, or find an employer willing to take you on and invest the time to train you. That is why age becomes a major factor in a successful SSDI claim and why many attorneys prefer to take on these type claims. The Grid Rules are pretty straightforward and an attorney can apply them on their own (prior to taking on a client) to judge the likelihood of a successful SSDI claim. Younger applicants have a much lower likelihood of success. SSD attorneys are like everyone else.... they don't want to waste their time on low percentage cases that might go either way depending on the day a judge is having. Age is definitely a factor.... and attorneys know it.
