Yellow was printing apricot on the diagnostic. I would clean the printheads 10 times until the yellow appeared again, but on the next print job the yellow would be missing again, and the trees were a beautiful blue. This worked for me and restored my yellow; however I lost the light gray. Cleaned the gray twice and it wouldn't return so I ordered a new printhead. The next day I wondered if maybe water from cleaning the yellow was causing the gray to go missing. I cleaned the printheads, and printed a diagnostic. The gray was back and all was well. Thank you, thank you. UPDATE - YELLOW AND GRAY kept randomly disappearing so I replaced all printheads and finally got the result I wanted.

I bought a HP Z5200ps 44" with HP 70 printheads a month ago, I have a problem with 3mm stripes appearing in images with certain tone of orange and certain tone of green on only 3% of images that I print have this issues. On test print out of the printheads all looks perfect. The printhead is dated 2016 on the M/Y and have only fired 360ml of ink, I assume it is the Magenta and Yellow causing the issue. I have just ordered and now waiting for delivery of the M/Y printhead and then I watched your channel. I will try the cleaning method before I replace or not with the new printhead. Thank you.

I have some interesting questions, if you know - please share; 1) if the printer swears at the head, is it worth cleaning it. 2) can the printer swear if the head is clogged or there is little ink inside? 3) from several head pulls - are the loops on the side (contacts) damaged?

Question: is the cleaned printhead placed in damp or will this cause a short on the printhead? Should the exsposed printhead chip paths be dry?

i solved this issue buy replacing with non-hp cartridges (way past warranty) and its good to go

I did this with my coloured printheads and afterwards it said "Replace the Printheads" and refused to do anything. At least it printed black before :-( PS : I went back and cleaned with a pad damped with surgical spirit. It then worked.

It would be nice if HP fucking told people they have to be left on to cycle the ink.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. I soaked with a mix of 75% lukewarm water, 25% ispoprop for about quarter of an hour - initially print on the affected channel returned to as-new (about A3 worth of the affected colour), but just started to show starvation as I cancelled the print -- on the second test print it started to run dry again almost immediately with severe starvation issues. Several reseats of the affected printhead made no difference. Interestingly ink _is_ getting through to the head, but obviously not quickly enough to satisfy printing requirements. I can start with uniform coverage but then it fades to nothing after several head passes. I've not soaked the head for longer - didn't have the opportunity. I haven't checked the cartridge, though ink level is almost 100%. Can't eyeball the lines to see if there's a clog... As HP shroud them with black plastic. All other colour channels are fine, which is even more annoying. HP genuine inks and parts always used. Should I be trying a heavier IPA base - or 100% water - for longer, or is there something else I can try before buying a new printhead?

Ink with costly Printheads built in is poor design ....extremely high ink operating cost due to printhead ...the printheaddless cartridge design is way better

I have never used a printer. I didn't need it. Now I try to repair some new model printers. I was shocked to see that the producers manufacture different cartridges only to profit more and they never care about environment and pollution. In theory all machines work in the same way and parts could be replaceable, but no!! Each model must be different and cartridges are too expensive to renew. Fucking money thirsty people.
