Must have been about 15 years ago - My brother went to get HIM's autographs at an album signing years ago but he was far back in the queue and they left before he had a chance to meet them. Pissed off he went to a bar and had some drinks. Ville Valo came in and sat next to him, they ended up chatting for a while and he ended up signing his album with quite a long note. Turns out they were doing a secret show that night and invited my brother to come along. He's such a nice dude.

i was at that signing too and won a ticket to the secret gig.. they were giving out cards to the first few hundred.ppl at the signing and in some of the cards were invitation.. i had my first proper kiss at that gig in the Scala London..2004 i think.. and yeah the signing was at HMV oxford street and Ville was know for drinking at the crow bar 5 minutes from there .. so there's a chance your story is true from my perspective

@@simplissity why could this not happen? I’ve met bands at bars nearby the venues they play. It’s a pretty normal thing. And Ville is known for his drinking history and being a kind person. If it’s bs idk why you would make that up, usually people make up being friends with celebrities not them being nice when they met they at an event.

I think they are just two pros who know that if certain questions are asked they are expected to answer a certain way. I mean, when asked a question that is LITERALLY aiming at getting to hear "a memory of Ryan Dunn", do you really think they're gonna say "Phew, nah, he was a shithead."? They pause, buy time by asking how long ago it was and then continue saying general stuff that "everybody was saying" about him. Their answers are polite, the way one talks about dead people. Nobody really knows if they were any closer than people are when they are mainly partying together. I am sure we all know party friendships like that that don't last and in the long run don't mean anything.

@@PlayMyDarling If you think the CKY/ viva la bam and HIM relationship meant nothing you’re oblivious to the fact that it was huge for their career and they spent many moons together. BAM even filmed 3 videos for them on the Love Metal album. It’s a little more impactful than an acquaintance at random parties. Dumb logic dude. Just cuz bands give press pleasing answers in interviews doesn’t mean their emotions don’t shine thru. They clearly looked uncomfortable when asked about how impactful BAM was to their success cuz they don’t only want to be known for that and feel he gets too much credit. Read between the lines bro. They meant what they said about Dunn it’s not a coincidence when everyone says the same things about someone.

I also got into HIM because of Viva La Bam...I remember being about 14 and my friend showed me this skate movie called Grind (bam was in it for people who don't know) and even though Bam had a pretty small part in that movie I was just drawn to him and I later found out that he had his own show and I swear I've seen every single episode of Viva La Bam because I was so addicted to watching it. Of course I was then introduced to HIM and The 69 Eyes and to this day HIM is still one of my favorite bands. I remember hearing one of their songs on an episode and I liked it so much that I immediately got on my computer and used my Dial-Up internet to look up all their albums and just one by one listened to all of them.

+feliciiaab - That was in a scene where Bam was waking his brother up with a guitar and actually it was the solo from that song and not the into. But it was quite butchered too. I remember recognizing where it is from and telling my brother who was also a guitar player what song that was and he was like "wtf are you talking about that's not remotely that" and I said well it's butchered for fuck sake, Bam isn't a musician. He still didn't believed me yet he had more experience with guitar and better tone hearing then me yet I nailed it L0L.

No matter what you want to call him, Bam did a mammoth contribution towards ][-][ ][ ][v][ getting notoriety early 2,000's. Ville states Kat Von D did heaps, (on a personal level with Ville,) yes she did. but there is so much footage of Bam & Ville together. It's most likely from both of their alcohol abuse, which they can only blame themselves for, not blame each other. Bam also helped bring the Dudeson's into alot of fame also. Ppl seem to have this tendency to let go of so much good between each other & try to discount a very important part of their live's from 1 fallout. That's sad. I've done it many times also.

Not a Bam fan personally, back in the day it always annoyed me how everyone associated the heartagram with Bam. HOWEVER, they are intentionally down playing how much Bam did help them in this interview. You can’t compare the exposure Bam gave them to Kat Von D. Interviewer - “your popularity rose through Bam Margera” Ville - “ummm, he helped out tonnes but there were other people involved too” Interviewer - “He did a bunch of videos for you guys” Ville - “...he did a few” Come onnnnn... I’d be PISSED if I were Bam and heard this interview all these years later. Love him or hate him he bust his ass getting kids to pay attention to HIM in the USA.

I guess 4 music videos is a few 😂 Severely downplayed Bam's involvement. And Love Said No is one of their most visually beautiful videos...I guess Ville has his reasons. I wish they write a tell all one day about what we don't know.

As a fan from Europe, I am a bit tired of this topic. I know Bam and blablabla HELPED in that they gave them exposure. But it's not like that's all they are, were or needed. Can't believe they will be forever associated with those crap shows for the brainless.

"Parts of territory that was...unknown to me in the past" Yeah Bam and and Ville definitely had some type of relationship. It's apparent by the way Bam would idolize and copy him, until the point of unhinged sometimes, and now Ville makes it known. They were very close, too close to just be friends.
