‘Gahat ka shorba’ is from Himachal Pradesh, and it is made from lentil called Gahat or Horsegram. This lentil has a distinct flavor, color, and texture when compared to other lentils. Gahat is also known as kulthi or koth is other parts of India. It’s a perfect soup for winters, with so much nutritional values.
Ingredients : (4-5 people)
• Gahat dal (horsegram) 1/2 cup
• Onion chopped 1/2 onion
• Tomato chopped 1 tomato
• Ginger chopped 1/2 teaspoon
• Garlic chopped 1 - 2 teaspoons
• Coriander stems 1 teaspoon
• Ghee or oil for tadka
• Cumin seeds less than a 1/2 teaspoon
• Asafoetida a pinch
• Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
• Roasted cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
• Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
• Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
• Salt as per taste
