This song, Better Than Me and Hinder in general have a huge impact on my life. My father left me and my mother when I was 7. Was incredibly stressful for us. But perhaps the worst of it was my mother's broken heart. I was really all she had, and I never left her. Any time I'd be with her when she was driving, she'd be playing Hinder, 3 Doors Down, Shinedown and lots of other artists who make these types of former love songs. I love the multiple meanings behind the line "honey why you calling me so late..." because not only can it mean late at night but it also can mean late in life. Now that he's already in a relationship it's too late for him and whoever is calling to be anything more than what they are now.

It's the anniversary of her death. This interpretation makes the song more romantic, it's about the love you have for someone who died. He's not unfaithful he's actually very loyal to the girlfriend who died. Just look at his face expression his in severe emotional pain.
