burt2481 actually no, comments like this are entirely necessary. The use of “again” in MAGA clearly is a reference to the past, a past when homosexuality wasn’t acceptable. Trump supports hate and tries to dehumanize minorities like gay people, transgender people and Latinos. These children have learnt that love is far more important. It’s a beautiful thing and the antithesis of the “make America great again” message.

@@htown11465 None of what you spouted has anything to do with this event. MAGA has nothing whatever to do with homosexuality. However the definition of marriage is a union between a man and a woman. I understand that definition has changed in some minds, that said if my kid wanted to "marry" a member of the same sex I would accept that decision and attend what they call a wedding and wish them the best. Don't even think of personally insulting me for my view as I have not insulted you personally for your view. I respect the ceremony in the video and applaud the children singing for their teacher.

In the past, homosexuals did not have the same rights as they have now. You might be ok with homosexuality, but the Vice President isn't. He doesn't want same sex marriage to be illegal, he wants it to be ok to discriminate against gay people (as does Trump) and he believes in gay conversion therapy. Not to mention Trump's policies in relation to transgender individuals. This is about love, MAGA is less so, even if not everyone might realise that.

It never ceases to amaze me at just how much hate christians spread in the world. Jesus lived in a society full of gays and never said a bad word against them. He did however speak out against divorce many times. How many hypocritical christians ignore this. You are not speaking for Jesus. Not to mention assuming that the parents who are the ones who organized this effort were unaware of the fact that these two men were about to be married and wanted to honor the teacher. Neither are you aware that the teacher did not tell the students about his fiance or the fact they were about to be married. It is the parents who found out and arranged this tribute. Then there is your reference to a "lifestyle". What lifestyle is that? A man who is apparently such a great teacher that the students and parents at his school wanted to honor him in this fashion? That lifestyle? Because the last I checked humans did not just wake up one day and decide they wanted to adopt a heterosexual "lifestyle". Neither do gay people. Did you? As for students not knowing about the fact that their teachers were married, I find that incredibly amusing. I am 70 years old. Back when I was in school - elementary, junior high, and high school, we certainly knew who among our teachers was married and who was not - little things like engagement rings, wedding rings, spouses who dropped them off or picked them up, and other common things that came up in the course of the year. Some teachers were actually married to other teachers. My freshman-year high school English literature teacher was married to the assistant football coach. On several occasions, we had instructors who were married and we knew that as well. We even had female teachers who became pregnant and it was not too difficult to figure that out. So take your bigoted attitudes and shove them down your oubliette.
