Brazil is one example of how much a Monarch is necessary for stability. After the Monarchy was overthrown, Brazil never again got prosperous and frequently experience chaos, high crime, corruption, and military dictatorships. Don Pedro II thought that not fighting back for his throne was the right thing to do, but I bet he will quickly change his mind if he see Brazil today.

A monarchy is only as good as its monarch, look what happened to Russia’s monarchy. The Tsar made so many idiotic mistakes he ended up getting overthrown. Same with many monarchies like those in Yugoslavia, Ottoman Empire, Greece etc, you can have a strong and brilliant monarch and then a bunch of fools.

O Brasil com o Império era uma potência em crescimento gradativo, era reconhecido internacionalmente como exemplo de futura nação rica e próspera, Pedro segundo era apaixonado pelo Brasil quase não viveu em Portugal, infelizmente derrubaram Pedro segundo porque os grandes latifundiários estavam contra o fim da escravidão, depois da monarquia vivemos em uma república com forte intervenção do estado na economia isso degradadou nossa economia. Única forma do Brasil crescer mais será por meio do liberalismo de João amoedo ou do Paulo Guedes. Infelizmente o Brasil perdeu a chance de ser um grande império e terá que se adequar em republica, um adendo na época a população em sua imensa maioria apaoiava a monarquia e ninguém foi consultado se queria o fim da monarquia ou não, ou seja a proclamação da República não tinha apoio popular.

@@abandonedchannel281 What Brazilian Monarchy tells us is that not all changes all for the good. Moreso if the change is radical or built out of greed. A country is as good as its leader and Brazil traded a relatively competent and stable leader for foolish and unstable ones.

I must admit, I'm a full blown republican and for the most part I don't like monarchies. but this is quite an anthem I do say! And i do have a soft spot for the Empire of Brazil. The empire had a parliament and democratic representation of the people, and their reigning monarch was a good man its easy to see. I respect the empire and its achievements at the least.
