hip hop used to have a sense of belonging, of community, a desire of being heard as a group back then. genuine lyrics, no attempt to sell records, no gimmicks, no gangsta shit. raw talent. keep the movement alive!

For me, 1996 was the apex of Hip Hop, so that delicious joint by The Grouch "Rap Is Senseless" is the perfect way to close out this playlist, as the end of 1996 saw the sun setting on authentic Hip Hop and the impending infection of pop rap courtesy of Puff Diddy et al.
