In this iconic live performance from 1986, Queen delivers a soulful rendition of their classic hit "Love of My Life" at the legendary Wembley Stadium. The performance is a tribute to the band's frontman Freddie Mercury, who tragically passed away in 1991.
The band's unparalleled showmanship is on full display as they capture the hearts of the audience with their heartfelt lyrics and soaring melodies. With Mercury's powerful vocals and Brian May's intricate guitar work, this performance is a testament to Queen's legacy as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
As the audience sings along with the band, it's clear that "Love of My Life" is more than just a song - it's a timeless anthem of love and devotion. Whether you're a die-hard Queen fan or simply appreciate great music, this live performance is a must-see.

Loved the reaction, thanks! There's several reasons people want you to react to this song three times. The first time you got to hear Freddie sing the whole song. This time, you got to see Freddie's hand-off to the crowd. The next one, same song, Live in Rio 1985, is absolutely mind blowing. Hundreds of thousands of people singing it who do not speak English as their primary language. And, there's another reason to embed this song in your memory. We want you to remember the way he performed it so you will understand the very last video Freddie appeared in. That said, you have a lot more Queen that you should do before you watch his last video due to the dramatic impact Freddie's illness had on his appearance. I recommend watching live performances from the 70's through 1986 before you venture beyond 1986. Then, when you watch Freddie's last video, These Are The Days of Our Lives, remember how he performed Love of My Life and you'll understand why we wanted you to remember that song and you'll have a better understanding of the journey that Queen took throughout the years.

This wasn’t live aid. They did a world wide tour a year later and had 2 sold out nights in a row at Wembley. It was 1986. That’s why you noticed wireless mics. That was the year wireless got perfected. This Wembley concert, which is almost 2 hours is absolutely fabulous. You really should react to the entire concert. People have broken it up in 6 or 7 parts. I think the Saturday, 7/12 performance was the best between the two Wembley shows. I’ve followed them since 1974 and this concert is their best. It was the last concert tour Freddie did. The remaining 5 years were videos only as his health prevented him from enduring running around the stage.

Love of my Life was written by Freddie - inspired by his love - lifelong - to Mary Austin - with whom he lived until he realized that he was gay. She remained his closest friend and is the only person who know where his ashes are buried . She inherited his House and most of his fortune. On the album Brian accompanied him on the harp - he had to learn it. Brian transformed the arrangement for acoustic guitar and voice. It is still performed at Queens concerts - now with Freddie as a hologram in the end Brian is singing the beginning. - as is the crowd.

I was lucky enough to be a teen in the 70s. Thank God there are so many videos so that young people get to experience Queen. Freddie was a giant magnet - he just pulled you right in. So strong a magnet that over 30 years later he can pull you in through a screen.

Agree with everyone you have to check out Is This the World We Created. You would almost think that Freddie and Brian wrote it specifically for Live Aid. Love of My Life was written by Freddie.

Not at Live Aid, that was in 1985, this was a year later on their final tour. The final song they did at Live Aid was "Is This the World We Created".

It's always exciting when the audience sings, but the most impressive video of that is this song being sung at Rock N Rio. Check it out, you will be amazed at not only how many people were singing, but it was an audience whose language was Portuguese but they were singing in English to Freddie.

You need to hear the Rock in Rio version from 1985. Over 250,000 people singing almost all the song in English. Amazing. Is This The World We Created is the song they did at Live Aid later in the show

This was the next to the last live show Queen ever did with Freddie. After the final night of this tour, as the band was talking among themselves saying how this had been a fun tour, Freddie told the band that he couldn't do this again that the tour had been brutal for him. The finale at Live Aid was a song called "Is This The World We Created" which was a short collaboration between Freddie and Brian. It was rare that those two wrote songs together. Freddie wrote this song but the album version is very elaborate and was not suited for doing live so Freddie asked Brian to do an arrangement that they could do live so this version is sort of a Freddie and Brian cooperative.

There are still new songs recorded with Freddy that have not been published until now "Face It Alone" is a song by British rock band Queen.[1] Written by Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor and Freddie Mercury (credited as Queen) and produced by David Richards, Kris Fredriksson and Justin Shirley-Smith, recorded over thirty years prior to its eventual release, and originally thought "unsalvageable" by May and Taylor, it was released on 13 October 2022 as a single as part of promotion for The Miracle Collector’s Edition box set, which itself was released on 18 November 2022

Live Aid 1985 : did not play love of my Life ( Brian and Freddie performed Is This the World We Created)- multiple artists and bands performed 20 mins each during course of a day Wembley 1986 : 11 and 12 July Queen concerts - sold out 2 nights in a row and exclusively Queen performance. @3:45 - who is “James”? There is certainly no one called James in the band? Guitarist is Doctor Brian May who recently became Sir doctor Brian may.

The audience singing here is powerful but it pales in comparison to the 250-300,000 people singing it at Rock in Rio 1985. You should check it out. Love your reactions, especially your remarks about the technology they are using.

I’m pretty sure that Freddie wrote this song. But Brian probably wrote the solo guitar interlude that he plays while Freddie is off stage. Freddie’s performance of this song is truly legendary for so many reasons but what also gets me every time is just how well Brian handles the 12-string guitar. I know some guitarists who are incredible and yet they have never mastered the 12-string guitar. In fact, one guitarist I know said that he gave up trying cuz the neck of the guitar snapped under the pressure of the strings as he tightened the strings to tune the guitar. It’s much harder to play than Brian makes it look!

Freddie was the greatest conductor in the world of rock. 😉 He was able to interact with 250 000 people in the audience in Rio and those people sang this song word by word! This passionate Wembley performance is my favourite. Did you see how Freddie was singing with his whole body?
