At first I'm like how have you not heard this? Oh it's been almost 30 years.

@Amanda A. I really feel my age when a band like this gets played. I may be listening to contemporary music now a days, but the old familiar is good too. :-) 😅👍

@Amanda A. Well sure! I've still got a LOT of my "old" favorites on my mp3 player, but there's also "new" stuff on it also. It's not too much of a surprise anymore when I see that there are so many older folks watching new music videos. I've kept an open mind with contemporary music, and i'm still expanding my play lists. :-D 👍 😅

@Amanda A. Some new music I've really liked, and am listening to (between my old favorites, of course) now a days, "Ledger", "We Are The In Crowd" (I HIGHLY recommend that band) I just found them, and there is not one single song they do that I don't like. (23 of them) and one more, "Orianthi" she's a rocker from Australia, (her name is also the bands name) she does lead vocals AND lead guitar. And she shreds her guitar. Check them out, you won't be sorry. :-D 😅

Amanda, Michael, y'all both might like Bobaflex. Pretty badass modern rock group out of West Virginia, of all places. Very talented... Some great covers and lots of great original tunes, too, with a pretty unique sound. Will worth a listen. Their take on The Sound Of Silence is amazing - much closer to the original Simon & Garfunkel version vocally, but with a nice, mildly hard edge in the instrumental aspect. It's an interesting blend. They also did a pretty accurate cover of Hey You by Pink Floyd. As for originals, check out "Bury Me With My Guns On" and "Last Song", among others.

Chris Cornell will always be the best. R.i.p. Chris. He has so many different sounds. From the early days with songs like loud love to his later days with all his self titled music and check out his twist on nothing compares to you. He was a master of vocals and guitar. Also check out temple of the dog and right turn with layne stayley

When you come here as a fan of Soundgarden, and leave even happier having seen the Raising Cane's poster in the bedroom.

Chris Cornell had the best voice in rock in my opinion. Sorely missed.

Idk, hard to top MJK, he excelled with Tool's new album :D With listening to Puscifer and Perfect Circle and how much variance he has, just a level above the others.

I saw Soundgarden open for Skid Row Feb. 1992 (this tour). Davenport, IA in a gymnasium. The bleachers were retracted and the baskets were raised. It was 1,000ish general admission. Both bands were absolutely amazing. Skid Row were headlining and had just released "Slave To The Grind". "Badmotorfinger" was just released and Soundgarden was on fire. A very different Soundgarden than many people ever saw live.

Temple of the dog - Hunger strike is now a must. They call it a super group but it's basically the members of Soundgarden jamming with Pearl Jam.

Chris Cornell is the same singer from Audioslave. (The band you did last month) He's also in Temple of the dog, and has solo work.

i remember when this came out, I saw it on the old Vanessa Warwick-presented Headbangers Ball on MTV (when it played music) and it was the first Soundgarden I heard. I was instantly hooked and came to love Chris' voice above most other singers on the planet... R.I.P. Chris - always a Legend
