I adjust based on the artist and the song. Some artist have a more aggressive delivery than others so I adjust the input to compensate. Also if I want tighter control over the source I’ll increase the input for more aggressive compression. I rarely change the ratio much because the 4:1 and 6:1 are the sweet spots for most vocal applications imo.

Love it for recording and mixing. Easy interface, short learning curve, and I find I can dial in the sound quicker in Luna because the Oxide tape just adds body and dimension to the sound from the jump. I use Studio One as well which I still like, but been using Luna more and more though.

It can but I would probably go with the LA-2A or CL 1B. I find their sound to be more on point for melodics. But using the optical compression setting on the Distressor can get you there too.

I only have the 1084, but from what I understand, the preamps are the same, so if you don’t touch the eq when tracking and only use the pre, then I think the results will be very similar.

@@deadtibetrecords7690 They’re not the same at all. Look at comparisons, they give a different tone - the 1084 has smoother upper mids and rounder lower mids than the 1073. I prefer the 1084 for vocals.

@@who_is_dis awesome! Good to know. The info page for the 1084 said they have the same preamp, so with that in mind, if you have the eq turned off during tracking on either unit, then the preamp tone should be pretty close, but I haven’t used the 1073 so can’t compare the sound.

@@deadtibetrecords7690 Yeah, I usually compare the two when using it in DAW for certain sources, and there definitely is a difference in tone - sometimes I favour the 1073. There's some video on KZfaq like "Help me decide which uad preamp" or something - guy's testing them all, and you can hear the comparison with the 1073 there. He also runs an LA3A to exaggerate the difference and the 1084 sounds the best out of all of them on his voice imo.

@@deadtibetrecords7690 hey how’s it going, I want to say thank you again for helping me out, but this is completely different when I look at my consol sessions it’s a Consol session file all I need. if you can go to your Documents and if you go on the universal audio sessions and then there you’ll see all your sessions and I just need you to copy that and send it over because this is a different file extension and it doesn’t open hopefully I’m not a bother and forgive me for being a pain🙈
