Hell yeah! Been using the UAD Distressor a lot lately. Enough so that the real thing may have to be next on the equipment list. I also just started running an external pre that I do a similar approach. Preamp into the Apollo, flex routed to the BLA 17, and then back in. Leaves me preamp options without having to by a patchbay.

If you click on the Avalon logo on either side it will change the color. Thanks for checking out the vid!

It’s actually a dual channel compressor. Not getting any use at the moment. Need a patchbay.

How do you send it from uad to your black lion audio then back in?

Flex routing in Console. I send input one to the output feeding the compressor and the compressor comes in through input 2.

Get a Warm Audio mic preamp and run it into that Black Lion. Software can't touch hardware fam. Trust.

Yeah it’s not great when tracking vocals, which is crazy cuz you hear a lot of producers say they go from a hardware 1073 to the hardware Avalon compressor. In this video I was somewhat emulating how Young Guru set the plugin up as far as where the values were at which does ok for less aggressive deliveries, but when I got tracks where I need to have high energy coming through, the Avalon compressor doesn’t cut it for me.
