I'd like to tell you about The Oath Keepers. oathkeepers.org/oath/
They are military and law enforcement that has sworn to uphold their oath to defend the Constitution, not the politicians.
If you have served and sworn that oath, reaffirm your commitment to the American people and the Constitution of the United States of America on their site or at an Oath Keepers event. Many civilians are also taking the Oath, administered by an Oath Keeper, at Tea Parties and similar gatherings.
Now there is a forum set up by individual states so you can connect with others in your locale as well as with ppl all across the land. You can track events and the testamonials volunteered by many Oath Keepers. oathkeepers.org/oath/
Another group I'd like you to know about is the Appleseed Project. appleseedinfo.org/ From these fine Patiots, you can learn the rifleman's quarter mile marksmanship and the real history of the first American Revolutionary War.
Tim McGraw has done a tremendous job on this song and I wanted to voice my feelings, too. This is a tribute from the heart to all those who are, were, or ever will be in harm's way to serve and protect freedom. This video is not about war, it's about people. Thank you all.

17 years,4 months, 24 days..I was able to serve my country, then in afghanistan my leg decided to reach out and catch a bullet.I think that is minor compared to what many of my brothers went through. Some never came home and some committed suicide because they saw things that most americans hope to never see.My family has served in every war this nation has been in,including the revolution.I now have 2 nieces and 1 nephew serving as i speak,i'm so proud of them....To all who have served and still are serving overseas and at home ,may God bless you for your service to this great country and i salute you for your sacrifice for all americans.I pray 1 day we won't have to send our troops into harm's way but i know there will be those who will try to take our freedom from us and the cost of freedom is very high."Lest We Forget"..I probably only have around 5 years left in my life on this planet due to my heart, but i will always be proud to have been in the US Navy.

Thank you for your service. I know the majority of my generation is very stupid for not appreciating this freedom that so many men and women have fought and sacrificed so much for. I thank you, as well as many other brave men and women, for giving me the best gift anyone could ask for ,FREEDOM. I hope one day I get to return the favor to the future generations that are born with the RED,WHITE and BLUE running through their veins.

Jonnathan Hernandez Dear Jonathan, The central problem with America today, at least in that vein, is that the people here have had it so good for so long that they just don't realize what it took and what it takes to preserve their good life and freedoms. It's that ingratitude and petty self-righteousness that, frankly, makes me wanna take a fucking bat to their head. I mean, if they want to be stupid asses, that's on them. But when they start denigrating the incalculable sacrifices made to preserve the good life they love so much, that's where I draw the line. Ignorant, ungrateful fucks, they are. All that said, to hear one of your generation express heartfelt gratitude gives me a glimmer of hope.

If you didn't something would be seriously wrong with a person. The reason is simple , it put a human face on war. It also make one remember , freedom isn't free!!! It is terribly expensive, it not only cost money, it cost lives, hopes , dreams ,blood , sweat and tears. I sometimes have wonder what would make someone so rotten as to give up freedoms that cost so...so much.

My whole life, I've dressed up on Halloween as an "army guy". Ever since I could walk, there has been nothing I've wanted to do more than serve my country, and this year, I've played well enough on the lacrosse field and in tournaments to have been fortunate enough to talk with the Naval Academy scout, and I apply if given the chance, and live out the only dream I've never questioned once. If I'm fortunate enough, I will serve in the United States Marine Corps, to honor my relatives who fought, were killed, and wounded in the Pacific Theater of the Second World War, as well as I feel it's my duty to serve the country in which so many have fought and were killed for its safety. To all the veterans here, thank you for your service, you have done every living soul that resides in the borders of this great country a great service, there is no greater service than to one's country. You are all truly my heroes, and have been since I could walk and speak. I hope I can do you proud, just as you have done me. To the families of veterans and those who have been killed or wounded in the service, thank you as well, you are the backbone of society, just as the NCO's are the backbone every branch. You are the strongest type of person there is. To all else, even though we have our many differences and beliefs and would gladly debate them and butt heads every so often, there is no denying that we might not have had the possibility to enjoy these simple things, these freedoms, like choosing who you believe in and having your own thoughts and loyalties, had it not been for the heroes who spent months and years in excruciating, gut-wrenching, and brutal conditions, sacrificing limbs and life, all in the defense of the idea that "all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness".

This song always rips my heart out. My son is a Marine and my biggest fear is getting that knock on the door. But, I know that if it were to happen he would have willingly sacrificed for this country that he loves so much. To all those who dislike this, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that there are brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect you. I'm sorry that you have the freedom to voice your opinion. I'm sorry that you are a part of this great country. Mostly I'm sorry that you can't see the heart of the wonderful men and women of the military, who work long and hard, for meager pay, in life threatening circumstances because they believe in the constitution and what this country stands for. Next time you see one of our fine military personnel, why don't you thank them that you are alive and able to voice your opinion so freely. I would like to tell you to STFU, but you have the right and freedom to spit in the face of those you protect you. That is what makes this country great.

Allan Mankis as someone who has gotten that knock on the door a few times, I can tell you it's one of the worst feelings in the world. But I find comfort in knowing that my family member were doing what they loved and that was helping other people. Most of my family in the military are either army or marines. Marines are a special kind of crazy. But they're the ones that'll have your back at the drop of a hat no matter what. I'm grateful everyday for others military's sacrifice. Without them, I wouldn't have the freedoms I have. None of us would. But unfortunately not everyone sees it that way. Most people I come across who know about my family's military background are grateful for it. It on the flip side I've also heard just about every derogatory word from the negative jerks you can imagine. One time that happened just a few hours after we buried my brother. I just told the jackass that if it wasn't for people like my brother, she couldn't stand there with her head up her ass and say that without repercussion and she'd be better off learning that before we have more terrorists come here and rob us of our freedoms. She didn't like that too much. But I'm not one to back down from my beliefs just like she thought she wasn't. With all that said, please give your son my regards and thank him for me. I know it isn't much, but I know it helps morale.

Tell him I say thank you and give him a salute for me please. My dad was a marine for 18 years. My mom got a knock on the door once while my dad was over there and she fell to the floor crying but the man was looking for another house. I feel bad for the intended recipient. But I hope your son comes home safe each time he goes overseas

My son in law was in Iraq when this song came out. My daughter was pregnant with their little girl. He was following in his father's foot steps who died from Agent orange. I had to make sure my daughter heard this song while I was with her in case she was driving and lost it. It was a very emotional day. Luckily he made it home with battle scars both internally and externally, but he made it home alive and got to meet his baby girl, Brooklyn.

I had no idea this was a live performance until the end and the thunderous applause. Tim that was heartbreaking but needs to be heard. It's funny how the Holidays for Veterans and Memorial Day you go through the day and realize why you have the day off. But it isn't until you hear and see a song like this that it just sears your soul. God Bless you every one who has ever served our country truly. Somehow country music seems to be the one who gets to the heart of things in life the most. To me anyway. Daddy you've been gone for 27 years now but thank you for serving in the Navy. You grew up poor and had never even seen the ocean until you went to sea. You were a small town country boy with a brilliant mind. You learned in serving overseas building landing strips in Samoa that you loved surveying. You told me that being the youngest of 9 children of a tenant farmer so poor...No new shoes, no new clothes, just cardboard put in the bottoms when they were coming apart. Never got a toy at Christmas. Oranges were considered a big deal at Christmas. You did get to go the movies and see the western shorts before the movie would start. Your family had a donkey so smart that on buggy rides after Church your Daddy never had to touch the reins because the donkey knew where to go visit. You lived in a one room shack that had an owner that your family worked the fields for. You said you did not know you were poor because everyone else was the same way your family was. You said that you were spoiled - spoiled with love being the baby. You appreciated life and did not take anything for granted. Because of the GI Bill you were able afterward to go to college and got a degree in Civil Engineering. Worked for DOT for 30 years and retired. Wrote a book on how to do surveying that made it easier. Texas Instruments and Hewlett Packard both had you come to put your information in a huge computer in the late 70s and they made a chip of it that surveyors could use and didn't have to bushwack to get the settings - you had the measurements already figured out for them. You were brilliant. You were the best Daddy a little girl could have ever had. So gentle and kind. You never got rich but you deserved to be a millionare. I miss you Daddy. And after hearing this song I want to thank you that even though you had never been away from home and were terribly homesick at first, (and that homesickness really made you sick) that you served our Country well And you found your life's work out there on landing strips you helped build. You were and will always be my Hero. You loved my husband and told me he was "The One" when we started dating. He is still amazing and so much like you. I love you Daddy. :-)

This song crushes me. I think about a buddy who was stationed in Ft. Collins so many years ago. When he got the call that his wife was going to give birth, he rushed to be with her and lost control of his vehicle in the snowy roads. So, when they talk about his little girl, I lose it. Today my son is serving with the 6th Fleet, so this song touches my soul deeply. Thank you to everyone who has ever served and an immense gratitude to all those who gave their everything.

I'm still enlisted but my cousin passed while on duty. We were in the same squad and we were ambushed by Insurgents. An IED flipped our Humvee and knocked me out. I woke up to my cousin pulling me out of the Humvee along with three others. We fought to the last bullet and he took three bullets to the chest before they ran off. I tried to save him but he died in my arms. He was like my little brother and just seeing that I'll never get those images out of my head. HE smiled before he died saying that it was okay and that he was ready.

Bambam Bullies I respect your perspective. I think there that all areas need addressed and I respect your service, especially in light of view our engagement. To me that speaks loudly that you still believe in the USA and out way of life. God Bless you and yours.

Bambam Bullies war is dumb, but this song isn't about the government. It's about a man's last letter home. Probably kept in his barracks under his pillow or shoulder pocket. What makes me sad is that some of my buddies aren't coming home or didn't make it, and they don't have that last letter. There are other reasons but opsec. Nobody prays for peace more than a soldier, except maybe a mother.

Dear Mike, Please accept my eternal and heartfelt gratitude for the price your brother paid, and for the sacrifice you and yours make everyday in his absence. You know, when the bravado ends and the band falls silent, we learn the true cost (and necessary) cost of war: hand a folded flag to a weeping mother, or widow. Stand graveside as a small child weeps and says goodbye to their dad. Seen it many times, as I made a practice of accompanying the remains of anyone under my command who was killed in action. So, I have some sense of your pain, and I am grateful to your brother and all those gallant, selfless heroes like him who now lie forever silent and still in gardens of stone so that we can enjoy our freedoms in safety and peace. We all owe them an immeasurable debt. /s/Scott L. Adkins Capt (USMC)

Of all the songs about soldiers that have come after this classic, while some are nice, none give me chills and touches my heart more then hearing Tim sing this song with such emotion. I get chills every time I hear this masterpiece and shed a tear for all those who never made it back.

This goes to show you that soldiers are under appreciated. People seem to take soldiers for granted and seem to think that it’s like in video games where it’s not a big deal when a soldier is killed when it’s actually tragic. For this reason, it’s rarely taken into account that all soldiers are humans just like us who have families that love them and miss them. Not to mention that’s It’s extremely difficult on the battlefield using all of your strength and laboring to fight without any breaks to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, etc. on top of being extremely scared knowing you might be killed or at least badly injured. God bless all of our brave fallen soldiers who went before us to fight for our freedom and rights.🙏❤️

I served and no regrets. This song really hits home. Some friends lost and others made it home. Respect to all brothers and sisters that have served and a a lot more to the families that their loved ones didn't come back. This song really choked me up.

I'm a journalist who has seen enough soldiers die that this video makes me cry like a baby every time I see it. I've seen more than a few ramp ceremonies where I knew there was nothing in the caskets but sand and a few bits of human tissue, not even dog tags, and the families who received the "bodies" of their loved ones had no clue there was nothing left of them. Just sand and unidentifiable remains.
