One of my favorite musicians and one of the greatest guitar players that I have ever heard. He could play anything and it sounded good. He always sounded good no matter what he was playing or who he was playing with. Also, Alex Acuna is a Super Bad Slamming Drummer!

Considering all the criticism of the bassist Jim Lacefield here, I must hear things differently to other people because I am loving his fat sound and groove. Many were influenced by Jaco but few managed to get close to the groove, but Jim does a pretty fine job. Its notable that Hiram played with Jaco in his later days and I am guessing that is why he picked Alex on drums here and Jim with his pretty decent Jaco stylings.

Man the groove was on blazing fire 🔥 this night! Hiram will always be a inspiration to me , he was one of the guitarists that changed my path as a listener and later finally picking the guitar back up as a hobby . He played with so many great musicians that I also have had a joy to listen to Including Will Lee, Clint DE Gannon , Ricky Peterson , Kenny Kirkland , Charley Dreyton , the Brecker Brothers , sting, Manu Katche , Marcus Miller etc . I was fortunate to see Hiram live in 2006 at the Detroit jazz festival 2 years before he passed , saw him with my dad and it's a great memory of my dad who also was a professional musician

HELLO SIR..🤗🤗 SORRY FOR DISTURBING.. We are talking about the Bass Player.. In my opinion.. He's ok,but in some point he's make it 'busy' by playing too many notes and lose the counting with the drum.. I'am really sorry,sir.. I'am not a very well trained musician,but i really love to played with musicians with dynamics control and just know the right time to step in.. I think,playing on 3 piece band every instrunent supposed to do more than usual by playing extra to fill the space.. But beside the extra playing most important is to maintaining the time tempo and bar counting to keep the band playing tight.. During Hiram Guitar solo on Teen Town,the Bass Player not working together with drum by put the extra note on the bass line and making the two instrument look like confused by each other and all of these make istener realise something happend on the stage between the two instrument.. At the some placeand situation,the less note we play more easy to other instrument to playing together understanding each others and make it easy to locked and groove.. When i younger,i loved to playing fast and put on many notes as i can.. I didn't care about dynamics.. Always 'busy' without care to give enough space to other musicians to put something on. It just my opinion sir,i'am may wrong but its ok to let me knew. Oh ya,my English isn't to well.. I hope you could understood. Thabks sir,have a nice day

@RozarSmacco 4 жыл бұрын
Heather sorry just cause someone’s a Jazz-cat doesn’t make them instantly better than other types of musicians. Really immature to compare great artists in the first place turns out Peart has a big band jazz background so could do most any of the techniques here. Bass player shouldn’t play while Hiram speaks. That’s the first thing I learned at MI: “no noodling!”

@@ahighwaymusic9749 Hai sir,may i share something..? About Rock or Jazz musiians which better than other.. At sone place i agreed with you sir by a few reasons.. HERE I SHARE ABOUT 'ROCK' and JAZZ GUY MUSICIANS THAT I KNOW FROM MY PLACE "..ROCK GUY.." - Most of the Rock guys have not learning 'Music' from school.. - Most of them knew nothing about music theory.. - Even that they can play, just Rock Blues Metal and some others.. - Most of them can't read music - Some of them really talented and very good musicians.. - But..Lack of knowledge in theory and not able to read music notation just limiting their change to join the other musicians and no one calling them to doin a recordimg session,because they can't read "..JAZZ GUY.." - Mostly they're learn music from School,abd tbey're knew the theory and can read muzik notation.. - Some of them playing muzik on Hotel and Night Club.. - They also can play Rock Blues some Classiccal and others.. - Some of them really² talented musicians,multi instrumentalist amd working as Muzik Teacher for children.. - Few of my "JAZZ GUY" freinds work as a Professional Musicians,like a Session Musicians Tuoring Musicians Playing With Orchestra some of them playing on a Night Club.. BETWEEN ROCK and JAZZ MUSIICIANS,WHICH BETTER THAN THE OTHERS..? - No One....! - ROCK and JAZZ just a genre of music.. - Some had advantage than the other,by able to read music.. - But some playing much² better than other even they haven't learn theory and not able to read,but really talented..
