As with most Hisense models, Cinema Day and Cinema Night are closest to "real", while Standard probably looks best overall - not accurate, but more "eye candy", so it depends on what you like.

Very good review, one note-though: native black level of an IPS is 0.1 nits @ 100 nits brightness of white...0.2 nits is most likely the measurement done at 500-600 nits of brightness of white.

I just pick the 55u8gq from Costco for £479.99 with 5 year guarantee included. Not a bad price.

It's makes me quite sad that Hisense are using IPS more this year than last year. I have the U7QF and I love the VA panel on it.

@Salah Taylor Gaming updates improved it a lot. I use it sometimes to play my PS5 on and I'm not having any issues.

The 65U8GQ is a UK model and has 120 Zones and has a IPS panel. The 65U8G has a VA panel but is sold in the US not UK.

I got mine yesterday, but wondering why the top speaker is making a hissing sound ? Is it supposed to work all the time or only when Dolby atoms ?

It might be active all the time, but it should not hiss audibly when sitting in front of the TV

The UK versions have less dimming zones and don't support 4k 120Hz gaming. I just cancelled my order after finding this out. Gonna have to get the X90J instead which is £400 more :(

It's blatant discrimination and disrespect so my question is: Why is it allowed? All about expectations. This wouldn't be tolerated by Americans if it was the other way round. They couldn't compete. But in UK our attitude can be"beggars can't be choosers". Even though we pay just like US customers. You question whether they make back in these markets what they lose in the US to keep up with the bigger brands. Selling to us less cost to manufacture but better profit when converting back to preferred currency? Selling right now at Costco for £715 and it's the only time I'll be looking to buy it in view of the above

Whats the point giving us (in europe) a 120hz panel without 2.1 hdmi ports!!! Its a ridiculous decision from Hisense I would much prefer to pay more and get the full potential of the TV.

The 65U8GQ is a UK model and has 120 Zones and has a IPS panel. The spec you quoted is for 65U8G the U.S. model.

The USA model U8G is beater and with Android U8G. Hisense are treating. Europeans as second hand people by selling worst product at higher price. Hisense are mad or something? I can find cheaper or the same priced X90J than U8GQ.

Despite this being flat out worse than the US model. It's still unfortunately the best TV available in the price range in Europe. I feel scammed buying it even so. Im annoyed that even after so many years, Full-Array local dimming still isn't the norm in the mid range. Edge lit is just so far worse.
