My TCL 65" (65S450G-CA) died today while watching. The screen slowly went dim and now it's black. The backlight works, sound works, no menu's will show. TCL said do a factory reset - but we can't see the pin it tells us to input when trying it (and that's doing it blind watching a video). I don't know what to do.

Had a similar thing with TCL Roku 55' that I had been given. It was a brand new TV that never worked out of the box. Replaced the Main and still would not get past half way through set up. I kept trying and finally it hooked up to internet and was able to update software and began to operate correctly. It was dumb luck. lol

Great video. Like taking a Masterclass. I had one helluva time getting the adhesive from the old LED strips off. I guess I rubbed too hard and loosened one of the black plastic corner pieces. It fell off the chassis. Managed to find it - all good. Waiting on the LEDs, just wanted to say thanks.

nice to have a video, but my family will never tolerate me tearing into the tv. I come from the days when I had to go to drug store on weekly basis to test/replace the crazy tubes. Now a days, this is far worse. But thanks for you information.

Excellent video BUT I fixed the backlight problem but ended up with two 3” vertical bars on the left hand side of the Samsung after I’d replaced the backlights. The problem is that when I was originally working around the TV to get the back panel off as you’ve got to be very careful prizing it out from the bottom of the TV because the tool I used cut through two of the brown ribbons (sure there’s a technical name for it). Be very careful and don’t go too deep with the tool you’re using or you’ll slice through them all because they’re very delicate. Watch from the 18:00 minute point so you can see what I’m talking about. Great video though 👌🔥
