Hi Sarang :) How many months or weeks do you recommend to prepare for Step 2CK? Is 3 months enough?
@SarangChoiMD2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eggsy!! I prepared for roughly 3 months! So, yes I think 3 months should be more than enough 😊

Hey thanks for the info, I have a question i’m an IMG and should I go through shelf review along with step 2 ck review in uworld ?

You don't have to! It's just an option for IMGs :)

Do you recommend doing 2 blocks of uworld a day?
@SarangChoiMD2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I did 2 to 3 blocks a day by the time I was closer to the exam. Remember that the exam is 9 hours, so it's good to get used to long hours of brain work :)

@@SarangChoiMD yes, you’re absolutely right, I should get my brain used to for concentrating for that long. Thank you for replying, you’re v kind! ☺️

Hi Sarang Choi, how's boards and beyond for step 2-3 ? How does it compare with onlinemeded videos? Thanks in advance
@SarangChoiMD2 жыл бұрын
Boards and beyond videos didn't have a good rating for step 2/3 prep, so I decided not to use it and chose onlinemeded over it. But I definitely found it helpful for step 1 prep! :)
@truthteller27112 жыл бұрын
@@SarangChoiMD don’t you find meded has a lot of missing info for step 2? I’ve heard it’s very dumbed down
@SarangChoiMD2 жыл бұрын
@@truthteller2711 I stopped using it after going over some of the videos initially! Some videos are still helpful but others are outdated, so use it with caution :)

What are the chances of getting into dermatology residency as non us img
@anicairoby2 жыл бұрын
Close to 0.
@y.m.5052 жыл бұрын
Youcan get it. You just have to be focused on Dermatology in all your preparation for the application. Do at least 3 USCE (One at a University program) strictly in Dermatology, then get a minimum of one publication and a poster presentation in a Dermatology related topic. These, if done well plus great Step scores (Step 3 inclusive), should give you a really good shot. Nothing is impossible.
@SarangChoiMD2 жыл бұрын
In 2020 Match, 16 non-US IMGs out of 692 applicants (2.3%) matched into Dermatology. You can check out the data here! www.nrmp.org/main-residency-match-data/

Hi! Congratulations on being done with step 1!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I think an intensive 3 months should be good for step 2 ck aince you just finished step 1! Step 1 knowledge is essential for step 2 ck :) good luck!!
