eeekks so excited!!! The group read sounds great and I love the idea of reading 1 prompt from each host! Very doable! Well maybe not w/ a newborn.. unless you get some audio going during feeding time!

Haha, I filmed the announcement video and in the back of my mind was like "how am i going to read anything!?"😅We are plugging along through Oct and I've yet to finish a book. AT LEAST the group read is my goal 🤞We shall see!

The only historical fiction I have read is "The Killer Angels" by Michael Shaara and I loved it. It's probably the best historical fiction I will ever read. His son, Jeff, has a few that I hope to read soon like "Gods and Generals".

my five star for this year is The Girl in his Shadow and The Surgeon’s daughter duology by Audrey Blake. They set in England around the 1850s a woman who wants to become a doctor but it’s not legal at that time.

Love your readathon! I never give 5 stars either, lol. Although I just read "Birdsong" by Sebastian Faulks, which is a WW1 historical fiction novel. Definitely surprised me how much I loved it. 5 stars for sure!!

You could always pick up a genre bending book - a little historical with some fantasy mixed in to make it more palatable! Mamahood is the best thing that's ever happened to me! I love it so much (even though it's tough too). ❤️

I'll probably pick a place where you've been, Auschwitz and make sure it's a fiction one. But I'm sure it will fit under based on a true story also.

I highly recommend Lonesome Dove as a 5 star historical fiction book. I read it over the summer and it is now one of my all time favorites! And I’m stingy with giving 5 star ratings.

Thanks for the recommendation! I haven't read many (if any) that are "westerns," but have heard fantastic things about that book. I'm a bit intimidated by it, but am willing to try it for sure.

It's been on my TBR for ages! A Soviet romance totally sounds like something I would love. But I've yet to come across it at a used book store. I'm keeping my eye out though.
