Up a long driveway in rural Virginia, sits an abandoned manor, that although once was full of laughter and excitement, now lies dormant. The property first came to life in 1743, after more than 1k acres were purchased from King George the second, and a small, 4 room wooden cabin was constructed. Through the years, the property was passed around to various influential families of the time, and eventually landed in the hands of Walter Grey Dunnington, and in 1897 he began the massive project of renovating the house into his dream Victorian estate. After the eventual downfall of the Dunningtons, the property was auctioned off to the Bolt family in the 1960s, who modernized the home, adding new furniture and electrical heating and proper plumbing. As of 1998, the property was officially abandoned, and a golf course was built around it, leaving the mansion not only to be an eyesore, but also sealing its inevitable fate.
