Silent Hills Explorations

Күн бұрын

Taking my first steps inside this mansion was similar to walking into a museum, filled with priceless belongings and artifacts, left just like the day the doors were locked for the last time. This property, situated up a long driveway, deep in the countryside belonged to the Woomacker family for various generations. Arthur, who inherited the home after his father passed, was a doctor, mimicking his time as a medic in the United States Army. As years progressed, he eventually situated himself with his wife Elaine, and had 3 children together. However, time progressed, and shortly after their kids moved along with their lives, Elaine fell into illness and died, leaving Arthur alone in the loving home he had grown up, and raised his children in. Not being able to wake up alongside his wife, and continue making memories with her turned out to be feelings he could not overcome, and after being decimated by heartbreak for 2 short years, Arthur passed away, leaving his family’s estate forgotten forever. Now come along as we venture inside and see everything that is left.

I've never seen what an entire butlers quarters looked like. This was amazing. I have a hard time understanding why people don't disperse someone's belongings once they pass. It's like we lose a little bit of history every time things like these are thrown away.

The saddest part in this video was seeing the bed where that man most likely passed away. Once I saw that, I really became quite sad and actually started to get choked up with a few tears. Crazy, I know because I didn't even know who this man was. I'm certain he lived an interesting life with lots of history inside the walls of the large home. It seems he was a man of many things, I'm quite sure of that. I offer mycondolences & respect for him and his wife who passed away including their extended family wherever they might be. Thank you very much for sharing and being respectful towards this families home. 🙏🏼✝️🙏🏼

You're very lucky to have that option. Where I live, in the SF Bay Area, abandoned places are a rarity. This is mainly due to the astronomically high monetary value of the real estate here and the high demand for housing.

The sad reality of the situation is that the cost of the needed repairs combined with the maintenance/upkeep costs and having to pay the property taxes would be astronomical and likely prohibitive for family members to be able to afford. And often family disputes over the fate or distribution of the estate ends up delaying or preventing the sale of the estate, subsequently leading to deterioron and decay

This family obviously has had money for generations and probably is just taking their time dealing with this…my family did with our family farm. It was difficult to go through all of the memories, decide who wanted what, whether to repair the farmhouse and keep for family gatherings, rent it out or sell, we held onto it for a while before finally selling several years after my grandparents died….it isn’t always so simple…..

I highly doubt anybody lives in this house. However, I believe they keep the water and electricity running so that they can stop by and check on it from time to time. I’ve always wondered why you never seem to take anything. I guess it makes sense as it may be disrespectful or something, but if the place is truly abandoned, I’d think the deceased owners would prefer someone take it and make use of it rather than it rotting. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong, or maybe you just have no interest in keeping anything. Anyways, keep up the good work!
