Our tour in Wellington, New Zealand included a ride on the historic cable car to the Wellington Bontanic Gardens. Started in 1902, the five-minute cable car ride takes passengers to several points of interest.
From the website - 'There is simply no better way to experience the hidden charm that Wellington has to offer than to take this 5-minute ride from the heart of the city centre, up through the hillside terraced houses of Kelburn, to the lookout perched high above the city.
Enjoy easy access to the Botanic Garden, Cable Car Museum, Space Place (at Carter Observatory) and Zealandia (via free shuttle).' - wellingtoncablecar.co.nz
Once at the Wellington Botanic Garden ki Paekākā, we walked downhill to discover different gardens with both New Zealand and International plants, flowers and trees and the Lady Norwood Rose Garden with ducks walking around. The Gardens were officially established in 1888. Amongst the gardens, there is art and a sculpture walk, We also visited the gift shop which has toilets. It's a beautiful walk with cicadas and birds chirping.
