The spire atop the former First Congregational Church at 66 Union St. has caved in, leaving a gaping hole in the main structure of the building. The church faces State Street and is a longtime New London landmark whose spire has risen over the city since 1850. It was sold in 2015 to the Engaging Heaven Church. Emergency crews rushed to the scene following the 1:30 p.m. incident and are assessing the damage.

I belonged to an old stone church once, and we were up in the attic, working on the lights when someone noticed that the big beam which ran the length of the church just under the upper ridge failed to go the entire way. It missed the front of the church by about 12 inches. A friendly engineer designed a fitting to connect the components, and a welding shop out in the country fabricated it. The problem was fixed. Something like that could have been wrong here. Often when a building collapses it's because someone has been removing pillars and other supports. This seems unlikely in such a traditional building. Somebody needs to go up into the attic of an old church and check things out from time to time.

Everybody wants to get up on those secret steeple rooms, there's 3 other's that can be seen in this video in the distances. The clock and steeple ones point to energy manipulation and I can guess they designed the thing to collapse removing or not putting in pillars and supports on purpose because they have intensive secrets to hide about what happened in those places, back in the days. I can guess they started out cities manipulating energy with blood sacrifices at timed events and used the clocks to time it, and if ever caught they can just crash the whole thing. Nowadays a lot of people want to get up into these clock tower/steeple combinations and investigate. Who keeps peopled locked out? Bldgs don't generally crash that much all at one time. The spaceship-vampires are doing it. This is making a LOT of investigators race out there from multiple states because they have been figuring this kind of thing out with those kinds of always secret clock/tower old illuminati buildings they start cities with. Basically because the potential for energy manipulations can mud flood whole towns and said to have happened many times back in the days when they were ending civilizations in whatever area. The tartaria thing is similar. Fancy buildings with the steeples all gone and fast. They call it mud floods. It's really energy manipulation how this kind of thing happens from DEW fires, to wind tunnels (The recent Acapulco hurricane) again it comes FAST, so things can't be patched up. They are after big, quick destruction. If they bring out the DEW they say it's a wildfire but it's all created end times goings on in various ways. Stealth satellites making the DEW lasers. This end times thing involves the plandemics...they just spread poison and say it's a fake non existent virus.

It seems so much in our USA country no longer runs as efficiently as it once did. We have jobs that do not get done. Children that can't write, or count and do not get taught. DA's that do nothing to prosecute crime. Too much is about politics and not enough about the best people rewarded for doing real productive and needed work. Why is that? Are we pretending work is being done and buildings and airplanes inspected, or are we paying generously and nothing happening? But our leaders keep the politics in play. Our nation is in trouble. These are the kinds of things you saw in the third world.

That scripture is truth but the church actively working there was a huge blessing to the community and welcomed everyone, the only thing I found every time I visited there was love. People being a helping hand to those in need and sharing the gospel of Jesus.

It seems the failure came from the lower portion based on how it fell. But this is built on bedrock? No basement per property card? Maybe there is a small utility tunnel/partial basement where those walls could have failed that is not listed on the property card? Water intrusion from the top could cause this due to gravity. Seems to be a flashing issue where it meets the gable roof on google maps but this could be poor photo quality. The remedy to stabilize, likely the iron tension ties and anchors, worked for a long time. Were more added over the years or are they all from 1850? 1 or more of these could have failed from age/water/rust/disintegrated mortar, structure shifting or been pulled out from the wall due to movement. The steeple is most likely tied/anchored into the the front granite wall as well and the failure could be there. Failure of anchoring ties may be why it leaned/shifted initially. The building may have been repointed but was it done correctly, deeply and how long ago? Was there water intrusion found? Was there any water shield membrane installed over the years and did that fail? There are stresses pulling in different directions with a tall, thin structure like this. If 1 tie fails others could due to those stresses as they become more stressed. We had a LOT of rain and that should not be ignored. It is likely a succession of things that led up to the collapse. The best speculation will come from those specialty engineers and contractors who work on these steeples. There are many unknowns so speculation may be all there is. It's important to know so this can be prevented.

No He didn’t! There were no churches when Jesus was with us on earth; He once whipped the money-men out of the temple, and the veil of the temple was ripped down the middle when Jesus died. I don’t think He wishes to destroy churches; I think more likely that greedy landowners wish to cash in on plots that are currently sporting large (perhaps no longer very full) churches.

Saying how bad a chruch is just because it collapsed. Well you should feel bad for the people that had wonderful memories there. And it's all destroyed. Also think how much that cost to buy the building and put money in the building just for god they did everything. They fed the homeless, Gave thousands of dollars and more.

Jesus doesn’t conform to this world’s standards. Woke isn’t a thing Jesus cares about, however he does care about the homeless that were being fed there physically and spiritually. Jesus cares about people, and the churches there about people. This church was full of love and hope and unless you are here to share kind words, it is best to be quiet. God will take care of their needs according to His riches in glory and the people of this community will work together to see a new building established that will be a blessing to all. The building was well over 200 years old and in desperate need of repairs. The church fellowship were raising the money and working on items one at a time. Who knows God’s plan but God, but God is good and He loves his children, He will make sure they have more than enough.

It’s people that forsake God, we can seek Him and ask for forgiveness , He the Almighty who can heal, restore , bless our land. Taking God out of prayers in schools and we saw what happened. God is for us not against us! Just deras close to Him and He will draw close to you. No fear when we trust in Him , He hears us when we talk to Him even though He May be silent.
