Beautiful! This man knows how to throw a good overarm thrust to boot. Not many practice it properly. Well done altogether!

I'm a big fan of HEMA so this is a pretty cool new thing to see. I'm wondering do you know if the African soldiers in the Roman legions brought these techniques with them as they spread throughout the empire's territory and what kind of effect this may have had on the development of European fighting techniques later on?

The answer is probably not, Legionary training (though differing significantly in certain periods) had standardized elements when it came to equipment, training and fighting.

The spear looks to be a Zulu lklwa. I could be wrong, though many african cultures invented sword-spear hybrid weapons independently of each other.
