17th century fashion is criminally underrated especially on KZfaq. I wish 17th century fashion got as much popularity as 18th century fashion, Regency fashion, and Victorian fashion.😀

17th century fashion is really overlooked compared to Rococo, Regency and Victorian fashion. As much as I love those three eras of fashion myself, I think the 17th century is one of my absolute favorite eras. Especially the 1670s-1690s!

I really liked yor video! Can you, perhaps, also do a video about early to mid 17th century garments? Or do you know any sources where I could get a list/picture of women's garments around 1630?

I am a bit confused. The stays, I saw in a Crow's Eye Productions' barroque video that the 17th century they were not worn if the dress's bodice was front laced and worn with a stomacher and the sleeves were detachable. I guess they could sometimes be sewn on, not removable, but mostly the bodices would be sleeveless and the sleeves would come apart. Becuase the bodice was already heavily boned and acted as stays, there would be no other undergarment, apart from the chemise, stockings, bum roll and petticoat. But again, there may have been different types of dresses and some had bodices that were less sturdy, made of soft fabric, not much stiffened, so they would require extra support from the stays. That's the idea that I have of the 17th century attire. Later, in 18th century, stays would become required, but in the 17th century, it was still optional or maybe, depending on the type of dress worn.

Oh my,I had always wondered how Royalties dress themselves with do many layers of clothings. If course they have maids to helpthem. How about the ordinary women dress themselves in that period.
