Formula 1's success in America can arguably be split into two eras: before the release of Netflix's Formula 1: Drive to Survive and after. Despite being around since 1950 and enjoying immense success internationally, F1 didn't see huge growth until the Netflix series launch in 2019.
As interest in the on-track product accelerated, interest in F1 cards drafted close behind. And while 2020 Topps Chrome F1 stands out as the turning point for modern Formula 1 collecting, it didn’t actually waive the green flag on it.
