I think this would be a wonderful opportunity to pause for a moment and give thanks for the great contributions of the Black community to our society. Their peaceful and generous nature make them ideal neighbors, lending testimony to their exceptional family values and parenting skills unrivaled by any other culture. Their commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people. Real estate values are fueled by the mix of African Americans into an area due to their caring and respectful nature of these communities, an example of all they have achieved through their enthusiasm for self-improvement by hard work and a self-reliant can-do nature. Without their industrious and creative drive, we would most undoubtedly be poorer as a nation.

it's great to appreciate black people now what other month is designated as White History month Red History month or Yellow History month?
@ElizabethBells
@ElizabethBells 3 жыл бұрын
Native American Heritage Month is in November and May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. Here in the US, because white is the majority, we don't really need a white history month because we talk about the history year round. There were specific reasons for creating months like black history month, and at least right now, those original reasons don't apply to Caucasians. Let me know if you're still confused! :)
@jamesmc1016
@jamesmc1016 3 жыл бұрын
@@ElizabethBells It might help for you to avoid confusion with your understanding that the other groups you mentioned do not mention color. Caucasians, Negroid, Mongoloid etc are races not colors. It is worth noting also that the other groups you mentioned, for whatever reason, are not celebrated in the similar way in the mainstream media or social media etc as that of "Black History month." We should embrace and celebrate the heritage and shades of color of everyone regardless of whether or not they are included in the minority of the population; and that should also include White History month. I love celebrating and also look forward to that movement, as well as people of all races and shades of color understanding that exclusion creates separation and division, instead of unity and universal celebration.
@ElizabethBells
@ElizabethBells 3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmc1016 You're totally right! "Black" history month is specific about color-but there is a reason for that. Because most Black Americans are descendants of slaves, they can't trace back their origins like many others. The history being celebrated is necessarily that of African origin, it's all about the shared history of a group of people here in the US. And since the term used to categorize them is "black," there we have it! Obviously, black history month's origin can be traced to the civil rights movement. I think it makes sense that there is a larger mainstream celebration for something that is very much still discussed as an issue in the country. Of course it isn't like there aren't discussions and initiatives that need to happen across the board as it relates to a diverse country, but obviously the history of the country comes in to play heavily. I totally agree that we can celebrate all races, but if you see this month as something that creates separation and division then we probably haven't had the same experience with it.

@@ElizabethBells Great! Then let's celebrate the past and current history of all the people of America and dedicate each month to equally celebrate all races and colors i.e. black, brown, red, yellow, white etc. and all shades in between. Since the native American indigenous Indian people were in the USA long before either black or white people or any others arrived, and they most certainly have suffered most extreme civil and human rights abuse as well, I think it makes even more perfect sense to have the larger more mainstream celebration paid to that group of people, with Red or Native American History Month. November does not have the same type of large national attention paid to it as does Black History month. It really isn't about my observations or experiences, or yours either for that matter, but rather how others that are not part of that specific group might feel excluded or alienated, and whether or not they will even choose to celebrate it at all, or instead choose to ignore it. If people choose the latter then separation and division will be the result.

Umm, the black race are not godly you egoist. What happened to this "racial equality" you people keep talking about? BHM is racial favouritism, which is nothing but a back-handed form of racial discrimination against anyone who's not black. Even the whole "white privilege" label is nothing but more back-handed racism. Nice job, hypocrite. Racial equality and education should be an ongoing process.

The black race are NOT the children of Abraham. SORRY! They're the children of Ham, so that prophesy does not apply to them. Who does it apply to? The Hebrew nation. Jehovah told Abram (Abraham): “You may know for sure that your seed will become an alien resident in a land not theirs, and they will have to serve them, and these will certainly afflict them for four hundred years.” (Ge 15: 13; see also Ac 7: 6, 7.) This was stated prior to the birth of the promised heir or “seed,” Isaac. In 1932 B.C.E. Ishmael was born to Abram by the Egyptian servant girl Hagar, and in 1918 B.C.E. Isaac was born. (Ge 16: 16; 21: 5) Counting back 400 years from the Exodus, which marked the end of the ‘afflicting’ (Ge 15: 14), would bring us to 1913 B.C.E., and at that time Isaac was about five years old. It appears that Isaac was weaned then and, already “an alien resident” in a land not his, he now experienced the start of the foretold affliction in the form of Ishmael’s “poking fun,” Ishmael being about 19. (Ge 21: 8, 9) Although in modern times Ishmael’s mocking of Abraham’s heir might be viewed as inconsequential, such was not the case in patriarchal times. This is evidenced by Sarah’s reaction and God’s approval of her insistence that Hagar and her son Ishmael be sent away. (Ge 21: 10-13) The very fact that this incident was recorded in detail in the divine record also points to its marking the commencement of the prophesied 400-year period of affliction that would not end until the Exodus.-Ga 4: 29. Nice try, but do actually study your scriptures instead of parroting misinformation.

Curious what taking the Canadian oath of citizenship has to do with black history month, but the judge residing for mine was sure to let everyone know and then to remind us of the plight of indigenous Canadians and try to guilt all the attendees as best she could into finding out more about both. She had a job to do - administer the oath, that's all. So over woke fascism getting in the way and being used as a hammer. It spoiled the event and more than a few eyes were rolling. People were there for the oath, not for wokeness.
