What's amazing about King Shark is that he's popular enough to have been adapted to multiple different film/television continuities, each one being a wildly different interpretation, and yet, _every time,_ he is easily one of the best parts of whatever media he is included in, regardless of his personality. What an absolutely fucking legendary character.

It was originally not an earring, but an eartag. He was created in a laboratory. So before his powers kicked in he was tagged. Also since he as a mix of human and Kryptonian DNA his powers were weaker than a full blooded Kryptonian .

He, Killer Croc, Orca, and some other hulking DC villains can be introduced via just a Grundy new skin import. Well, dialog too but that takes less work than the guys paid to do it act like it does... because they want paid more.

@@That80sGuy1972 Nah if Croc and King Shark are just skins for Grundy then that’s lazy as hell. Croc and Shark’s moves and attacks should be both water and eating/biting based as well as brute strength. I mean, what else do they have those sharp teeth for? Grundy doesn’t eat people. So he can be his own brute strength character like in Injustice 1. Killer Croc/King Shark should play a bit differently imo.

I went to Kindle after 72 seconds of this video out of curiosity about your new comic, "Astonishing Times". I'll be honest with you, I wasn't really expecting much from it. I was wrong though and it is an intriguing first issue of what I hope will be a long run. It isn't perfect by any means but what is? It is close enough that I plan to make it a regular purchase, and I honestly can't remember the last time that happened with a new comic where I wasn't already familiar with the characters and world. The characters, well, the main character feels surprisingly real and relatable given the small number of pages he's been on so far and I already find myself rooting for him. One of the few things that disappointed me is that he's yet another mild mannered reporter, like there aren't enough of those in comics already! :o) All in all, an entertaining and well written first issue that has me hooked enough to cough up cash I can't really afford. Well done to all involved and please keep the standards high.

“James Gunn’s King Shark seems to be a live action version of the Harley Quinn animated series King Shark” LMFAO NO 😂 The animated King Shark wears more clothing, is eloquent, intelligent, and pretty sweet most of the time. Gunn’s King Shark is shirtless, rarely speaks, and aloof most of the time even in dire situations. Night and day difference bro.

@@dion6495 I mean, even appearance wise he’s pretty different in my opinion… There’s only so many ways to mix a great white and a human. But animated Shark regularly wears clothes, glasses, and he reads stuff… he seems more human than shark. Gunn Shark is pretty animalistic and seems like a 50/50 mix personality-wise. Just my two cents but maybe you’re right, maybe he just means that physically they look alike… like the face and body shape.

I heard he's great but most of the other characters in the movie are great also. So there is no one character that's carrying the film. Which is great news.

Just finished reading issue one of Astonishing Times and I’m definitely excited to see where the story goes. Though the part about people forgetting what the heroes did during the cataclysm made me a bit sad because it reminded me of how Jon Stewart made a passionate plea to extend funding to our heroes for their service during our own cataclysm of 9/11. I can only hope that by the end of this story Noah can make an equally compelling testimony.
