In 1974, my local music store called me up and said, "hey, there is a guy trading in 2 4x12 Marshall cabinets for some stereo gear and we are allowing him $300.00 in credit. If you were to come down and offer him a bit more, you could probably get them" so I took $390.00 down and he accepted it and i came home with 2 c.1969 cabinets that were like brand new. Those cabinets changed everything and our Band Mondo Bando were the only band in the Spokane, Seattle Washington area using such heavy weaponry. I ended up using my 2 4x12 cabs and an 8x10 cab, a 50 watt and 100 watt head and my bass player was using 2 full stacks with 100 watt heads. I still have my 2 4x12 cabs and the 50 watt head from those days. I added to my Marshall collection in the 1990's with 3 more stacks, 2 guitar and one bass stack and added 3 more 50 watt heads which were my favorite to use. I wish I had had the JCM 900 50W heads back in the 1970's with the pre-amp features but nothing ever beat the sound of the early cabinets. It don't say in the video how Jim Marshall shafted Tom Jennings from Vox not once but a twice. The second time was when Rose Morris owned then. Not good for sales if people know about this though.
