I named my firstborn son "James Marshall " after Jimi AND James Marshall.

Named my son after Jim Marshall, when we went up to the Marshall museum at Bletchley, he couldn't get over how his name was written on all the amps lol. I've been using these amps for the last 30 years. Absolutely fantastic equipment and such a friendly, professional company. Jim's legacy will live on as long as there's guitars.

When it comes to guitar amps, there are two great legends: Marshall and Fender. My favorite witches brew is to always play both brands in tandem, meaning in stereo. That is the only way I can find the sound that brings joy to my ears and my heart. I recommend that you too give it a try. I think you will like it.

@Buffalo - I use that combination very often, and I agree, it is a great combination. Due to retirement from live performance and retirement from my phoneman job, I use Amplitube V4, my POD HD500X, and Guitar Rig V5 to emulate those amps. I can no longer justify having the real amps, also not enough physical space. Don't forget, the original Marshall 50W head was a British tweak of the Fender '59 Bassman (5F6A). And Jim Marshall did some great tweaks. Also, we can't forget that many of Leo Fender's amp designs were tweaks of circuit examples which could be found in the front and back of the RCA Tube manual. And Leo Fender did some great tweaks. enough of my drunken rambling.......

@@rb032682 I can see that you are enlightened! To be perfectly honest, I stole the idea from Stevie Ray Vaughan. If my memory serves me right, I think he used a Fender Super Reverb with a Marshall. Eric Johnson too likes to blend Fender and Marshall amps on stage.

@@Walks-With-Pride - A lot of guys in the 60s used to use more than one amp. Back then it was more for "louder" rather than "tone". I did it when I was able to borrow a friend's amp, or two. I used a Mesa Boogie Mark IV for about ten years. I could get a Fender-type sound if desired, or a Marshall-type sound if desired. I could blend them a little but not the same as doing stereo. I miss that amp most of all. ok...... enough crying in my beer...........

Sometime in the late 80s or early 90s I went to the NAMM show to meet up with a friend and look at all the new stuff. When I arrived I saw the Marshall booth and wandered in the room. It was just me and one guy that started chatting about music. I spoke to him for a few minutes before he reached to shake my hand and say, "I'm Jim Marshall, nice to meet you." There was nobody else there. I was a bit star-struck in a way. Here I was talking with a legend in the music industry like he was any other guy. Having been born and raised in Hollywood, I've had my share of meetings with big celebrities and even have friends who are A-list musicians and movie stars, but Marshall, to me, was kind of a different level. Only because of what he did for an entire industry. Nobody doesn't know his products. He was and is an absolute legend.

Anyone else curious as to what sound levels you could get with that 7 x 25 marshall wall? 700 speakers all blaring rock must be like the final boss in a video game for your ears. Maybe set it up somewhere like the salt flats and see how far it can be heard. I know the ones in the video are just stage props.

probably instant hearing loss. i bet those are all empty dummy cabs to look cool.
@TimpBizkit2 жыл бұрын
@@Jaggedknife11 I think the sound would be similar level to 3 or 4 stacks up close (because you can't be near all speakers at once), but travel further without dying down in volume much even 20+ meters away.

Except that Jim basically cloned the Fender amp, with a few minor tweaks.
