Being in my mid-70's now, even though I was a Chevy guy when the SuperBird came out, that by no means is indicative that I did not appreciate them (as well as the Daytona). I'll never forget when this guy (college kid) showed up in the small college town (in Southwestern Oklahoma) I lived in at the time with a SuperBird. (Please keep "Small Town In Southwestern Oklahoma" in mind while reading the rest of this comment.) When he drove by my house (with the windows down) I did shout "Fantastic SuperBird" to him. I've often wondered what happened to that Daily Driven (by a college kid) Superbird. Admittedly, I only remember seeing it around for one semester.

Love it! One of my favorite cars ever. One of my favorite colors on any car ever. Had a AFX slot car, Petty blue Charger? with the number 43 on it. Had a couple Daytona slot cars also, but one was yellow and black and the other was red and white. I met you in Franklin, Indiana (you let my daughter sit in that drag car) and I think I told you this story Had a little old lady who drove a red Superbird to the grocery store and I always had to check it out when I saw it had a CB antenna bolted to the wing a big ash tray bolted to the dash, and holes drilled into the nose in the shape of a heart

Fantastic car - truly a landmark of an era. I have heard that Richard Petty needed paint for one of his early race cars, and that all he had was some white and dark blue and so he mixed them. Not sure if it's true.

Very Nice Car, my dad worked at Southern Motors High Point NC back in the day and I remember as a child he took us down to the dealership to meet R Petty. I remember that the dealership had two petty blue birds decaled up / street cars, one was a 43 car and the other was a 40 car. I always wondered where the cars are now.

Here's a shot in the dark. A yellow Superbird owned by someone in Orange Cove, Ca. That car was still around in the "90's".

When these were new, they sat on dealer's lots. Everyone thought they were garish, and often times sold for less than non-Superbird cars. Hello~?

I know where there is a "petty blue" superbird 100% original, original owner right now in a barn in CT. Been there since i was a kid. Over 30yrs 👍

I often wonder... let me start over... I'm from Staten Island and in 1993, a friend rented a garage on Morningstar road to rebuild his 71 383hp Charger SE. I went over there and he tells me all of the other garages have some kind of cool car in them. And the landlord said one of them had a Superbird. A few months go by and I stopped in to help him and the door is open 2 stalls down... the female owner of a super-low mile (I think she said 17k) Petty blue Vcode 4speed 'Bird... it had some nicks and scratches and the nose decals were crooked but it was incredible... she was there to warm it up and told me she does it every month... Over the years I put this car up to several people and nobody is aware of it... Dave Zachary didn't know about it, Julius Stauer didn't know about it... anyone???
