Historical parade organised to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence.
Historical formations from the early Slavic state, Piast dynasty, kingdom of Poland, the Polish-Lithuanian Union under Jagiellon dynasty, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Rzeczpospolita), Napoleonic Wars, November and January Uprising, I World War, II World War, Polish-Soviet war and the Cold War.

In times of the famous Winged Hussars (also other Polish knight formations) of Polish Kingdom this cavalry formation could only be the nobility (nobles) with their own horses, 1 such horse was worth as much as 1 to 2 villages. It was a special Polish horse breeding, and their export was prohibited under the death penalty, as far as I know. Naaah, plenty of peasents were serving in Polish cavalry back than - also in Hussars units, and plenty of them were ennobled and granted with coat of arm for their war effort. The Companion (commander of the smallest hussar unit) was mostly rich noble and he was buying all equipement for himself and around two of his Fellows - and Fellows were mostly recruited from poor nobles or peasantry. The situation You describing can be applied only to last years of hussar formation when they lose they role on battlefield and became parade unit.

Respect is mutual. Man wars have been fought between us, but there was always respect between our kings and your sultans (correct term?). Also, those of us who know the history will always remember this: After 3rd partition of Poland, when Poland was wiped of the face of the eart, Turkey (or Ottoman Empire) was the only nation NEVER to recognize that. It is said that in Istambul, upon arrival of diplomats from Moscovy, Austria or Prussia, a servant in court would always cry out: Envy of Poland has not arrived yet. We will not forget this recognition and kindness.

Poles love cavalry, from the famous Winged Hussars and the greatest charge in history led by Jan Sobieski, through great victories of Napoleonic Wars such as Samosierra, to the last great cavalry battle at Komarów, and finally the last cavalry charge in history during the Battle of Schoenfeld on March 1, 1945

@@ceglastymonster7799 Za prezydentury Bronisława Komorowskiego zorganizowali imprezę z orłem z czekolady by pokazać jacy są patriotyczni, i zaczęli go jeść ale ponoć nie za bardzo się nadawał do spożycia. Ówczesna władza robiła różne takie pokazówki, odwiedzanie placu budowy i przez 15 minut w tle jeździły ciężarówki by pokazać że prace trwają. Aktualny rząd też nie jest szczytem marzeń ale przynajmniej sprawiają pozory normalności.

Someone already mentioned the infantry but Winged Hussars actually originate from Hungarian/Serbian Cavalry so they're partially hungarian too

@@zerguskotus2648 After Stefan Bathory's reforms (who was a hungarian himself), the light cavalry hussars that originated from Hungary/Serbia were abolished and the winged hussars were formed. This new cavalry formation consisted only of Polish and Lithuanian nobility, they abandoned the shield and acquired a longer lance, pistols and heavy armour. Therefore we can safely say that the hungarian hussars and winged hussars are very different.

The phenomenon of the Polish Winged Hussars. It cannot be confused (xle by typing one word - Hussars), because the translator treats this name as the name of the cavalry from the Napoleonic era. Her victories were due to several factors: 1-Commander-strategist who knew how to use it properly, depending on the place and weather (the ground could not be wet, preferably either dry or cold). 2-The training of future Winged Hussars, just like today's Rapid Reaction Forces, which began when the son was 7 years old and passed from the mother's jurisdiction to the father's jurisdiction. They were the sons of princes, magnates and the richest nobility, because only they could afford such high costs . 3-Winged Hussars weapons of the highest quality and top shelf (very expensive at the time): a very light copy, up to 6.2 m long, ended with a spearhead (copies were provided by the Government of the Republic of Poland, the rest of the equipment was bought by the nobility themselves), a piece of equipment 1.25 m long, hammer / blunt, sometimes a bow + arrows, 2 pistols, a dagger and a saber, half-armor which in those days was difficult to penetrate. Such armor + armor (including the armor of the last Jagiellonian King Sigismund Augustus) can be found at the Jagiellonian Castle in Krakow as exhibits. 4-Horse, or rather horses (from 3 to 5), Winged Hussars (their breeding was shrouded in mystery), very expensive: from 200 PLN to 1200 PLN one, from the age of 7 specially trained: not afraid of bangs, fire, jumped from embankments, during the fight he bit his opponent's horse, selling it or revealing the secret of the race was punishable by death even for a nobleman. Overall, Winged Hussars were used to break up enemy formation. Before the attack, the captain of a given banner placed the Winged Hussars in two loosely one behind the other rows. At the command of the commander of the Winged Hussars, they started the walk: 100 m / min. (6 km / h) Then the next command was given and the horses went trot: 200-250 m / min. With the next command, the horses would gallop: 340-350 m / min. When, according to the commander, there was 30 m left, the opponent was commanded a gallop of about 70 km / h. and at the same time the second row of Winged Hussars entered the first lance to a horizontal position and the riders touched their knees, that a coin inserted between the knees of two soldiers was not allowed to fall out - so they were trained. There was no chance to withstand such a blow. It is not true that Winged Hussars fell (the Sejm of the Republic of Poland dissolved it by law in 1776) because the nobility was overwhelmed by indolence. Poland was still fighting with someone, and most of the horses died in the fights, the proper training of which took a long time and the breeders, trainers of these horses could not keep up. The last horse, Winged Hussars, was killed in Napoleon's march to Moscow. Because everything has a beginning and an end, and a Pole is born with honor, it cannot be taken from him, you do not have to give it to him.
