Love the Tauren. My favorite race by far even in modern era.

In the Classic TBC pre-patch, a number of Classic Era bosses were bugged, including Sapphiron. Saphirron has a mechanic where you need to hide behind frozen players. However, it was bugged in such a way that the Tauren hitbox tended to be too large to hide, meaning I *had* to use something like Savory Delight to even try the fight...

Having tauren as a tank gives you a great COWer.

Plainswalker should have been kept in, even if they added mounts later on. I loved that.

Plainsrunning seems to have come back, in a manner of speaking, through Running Wild.

2:51 I miss this ability, I thought it was really cool! Spawning flowers is fun.

Both of the Rush and stomp are great in pve and competitive pvp as well. Especially classes that lack crowd control or those that have a few and they have another stun added on.

The only thing I would point out is that there is actually no "hidden interaction" with herbalism, since Taurens start with an extra 15 points in herbalism, they start at 16 instead of 1, (just like all the profession "skill point" racials) they actually gain the exact same amount of points as anyone else to reach any milestone. As I say this is the same as any of the profession "skill point" racials. The more interesting interaction comes from the fact that in order to keep it balanced with other people (who do not have the skill point racial) nodes/recipes remain the same colour for 15 skill point levels longer. For instance as a Tauren Peacebloom will remain orange at 15 skill points higher than for any other race. Again though since they have 15 more points in herbalism by default this balances out to be no real advantage.

So since Release of WoW the Tauren just got better and better over time. The one true race to play!

I distinctly remember getting herb sniped by a tauren druid literally named "Herblol" all the time back in Cata. Going up and down the river in Uldum and this bird drops down while I'm gathering and picks the plant before my cast goes off! Hated that guy! XP

Great video as usual! Tauren is my favourite race. I love the ones about earlier versions of the game with things like Plainsrunning. Maybe you could do a video about old character models from before release one day! You're my favourite WoW channel here, keep up the great work

If the game ever comes to end I will log in to take one last look around Thunder Bluff. It feels like home for me in that game since I started playing at 14. I’m 30 now. Tauren are the best race by a million miles.

You technically do have to land to pick flowers, it gives you an error that you are flying, but you don't have to shift out of it.

Uhm, correct me if im wrong but during classic and tbc, endurance was 5% total health, then in wotlk it was changed to 5% base health, that was missed on the video wasnt it?

Monks can mine without pulling aggro through Zen Flight. So using the same logic, Highmountain Tauren Monks are bis for mining to a lesser extent than Tauren Druids would be for Herbing.

I LOVE the Tauren. I'm rockin' antlers. I feel like that Bull Rush dash is so underappreciated.

Hey Hiru, you might remember me asking about more spooky WoW stories on your Halloween stream. I came across Lostlight Grotto in Val'sharah today, you might want to check it out when you're looking for more creepy stuff in WoW, if you haven't mentioned it anywhere. The local Moonkin went feral since the Light of Elune doesn't shine in there. They end up turning against the Dryads and transforming them into mindless piles of bone goo. There's even a dryad quest giver who it half-turned into a slime. Creeps me the hell out.

You didn't mention that Higmountain Tauren Druids can mine in the shapshifting form. Just like regular Tauren can herb.

You should do a video covering ‘The Green Hills of Stranglethorn’. Was leveling in SoM and just got my first page. Come to find it pretty intriguing!

If you think Plainsrunning sounds fun, try the private server, Turtle WoW! it's a Vanilla + PvE/RP server, and one of the additions Turtle WoW made to the regular vanilla experience was to bring back Plainsrunning, alongside mounts for Tauren. You still need to buy your mount training at level 40 to use it, but it saves Tauren toons the cost of mounts themselves (though every toon get a Riding Turtle mount that scales with your riding level automatically -- a featured perk of the server). There's a lot of other fun additions too like playable Goblins and High Elves in Vanilla, custom quests, so you can be going through an old, familiar zone and have something new to do, and even custom dungeons, zones and cities/towns, and unique playstyle features like Turtle Mode (decreases your leveling speed in return for perks every 10 levels), Hardcore Mode (you get one life to reach level 60 with, and if you die, your toon's deleted), and "diplomacy", allowing you to communicate and group with members of the opposite faction. Probably coolest of all, on the server's message boards, there's a feature where players can design their own quests, and if the devs like them, they'll add them to the game! It's following a whole new story, based on WCIII lore, taking a detour from the Burning Crusade. Pretty much a "what if?" AU server. I'm leveling a Tauren Hunter right now in Turtle WoW and looking forward to giving Plainsrunning a try!

Tauren had herb gathering speed increased during WotLK. I remember sniping herbs in bird form from scrubs.

Fun fact they new Tauren race is a moose and got a bull charge they should give those racials too all forms and let to the player choice if they have same CD time u can change for stun to charge in any situation

Most of my characters were Tauren. Favorite horde race.

Correction: You HAVE to land to be able to interact with items, but you dont have to dismount by shifting out of flight form. Your model's base must be in contact with the ground to be able to gather.

i may be mistaken, but in retail vanilla, didnt the tauren racial work on on all stam, giving them the percentage more hp from all stam sources, then changed either in tbc or later to only be more hp based on BASE stamina, also in retail vanilla all races had slightly different stats at 60 when naked, and tauren had the most stam.

I love Tauren. Just wish Tauren had the tail/foremane options that Highmountain tauren have. I like the messier tail fluff ball, with a braided end on the tail itself with the blue ceremonial bead. HM Tauren racials are meh compared to Tauren, bull rush is cool, but charge for 1 second and anyone hit knocked down for 1.5. Issue with that is, if you use on someone in melee range, by time your animation is done, they only have .5 seconds of knock down left. Id honestly choose HM Tauren of they got a horn option thats tiny like some of the female options. I just dont like how the horns break throuhu some helms as HM male using the 2 smallest horn options.

I don't know nothing about hitbox sizes but I do know that when we started doing MC early on in vanilla only the female Taurens in our raid were unable to walk through the window to port into MC. Super, super rude. I think they fixed it relatively quickly but until then we had to be summoned into the raid.

Don't forget that your hitbox it's useless in evade mobs near of the stairs in Utarge Keep in WotLK. Come on Blizzard, the Taurens They canceled your racial mount on the alpha, but the Alliance Worgens did not. That is unfair to the horde faction.

You can still auto attack people through pillars now, its not just cows, all race, it just a bug in the arenas, nothing to do with the size of your own hitbox.
