Just 118.000 kms on the clock, hardly used, clean, as new, quiet reliable, never cost a cent, plainly beautiful, totally reliable.., More? Big trips (Sydney to Melbourne) are great, steering, ride, handling, roominess, comfort, parking, turns, all great. It does all we need and more, so...and, so economical...

What I love about the Corolla is.When somebody starts to argue with one that their car(irrespective model in about the same price class), you tell them the Toyota Gorolla became topseller in the world from 1974.Once they hear it remained in number position till 2022,they end their argument.Brilliant value for money and tremendously reliable. My favorite is the 8 generation of all. I got one 365.00 ml. And still going.

I sold 100s of Corollas over my years in the trade.I can honestly say that not once did i have one return to me with mechanical issues.They wre simply bullet proof and sold themselves.The modern day equalivent of Henrys model T.

I had a 1979 Corolla, new. A 1200 CC engine, with a 4 speed on the floor. 3KC engine maybe. Not sure but that sounded like the correct engine code. It always bothered me that it used a quart of oil every 3,000 miles. It was still using a qt of oil every 3,000 miles when I parked it and sold it for junk with just over 300,000 miles on it. I guess it could have gone on but the car was looking really bad with faded paint and sponge showing through the black vinyl seats, and the radio quit working. Not sure but I think that I saw that same car driving around on the other side of the township I lived in. Looked exactly like the one I had.

Had a fourth generation 2 door Corolla new back in 1983. It had a 4 speed manual transmission, and loved the rear wheel drive. I can't remember the engine displacement. Also desirable was the fact it had no electronics, and no power windows or locks.
