Excellent tips! 1) elbows out 2) split step in air when oppo hits 3) hands lower than raq 4) anticipate where ball is falling and set raq face there and punch 5)follow thru w/ raq pointing to target

Today! The first two tips were critical for returning balls that came directly to my body. Reaction times improved immensely vs not using the techniques. (And that's not to minimize the contribution of the remaining tips) For my level (and probably others) YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT! THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Great instructions. Elbows out is super helpful for me.. would add one instruction which is making sure you have a very firm grip on the handle, a lot of times even when you do everything right, when you have a weak or loose grip on the volley the contact with the ball isn’t as firm.

Thanks! I'm a ex-D1 college player, primarily serve and volleyer returning to competition and found this very useful! I never thought about my elbow position, and in fact thought the opposite to keep them in to the body. It makes total sense to keep them out and feels so right. My volleys really declined over the years of not playing but now on the rebound! Thanks!

No one has mentioned about it - Elbows out away your body I used to hold the racket firmly with my arms sticking on my sides, so when the ball comes I need first to open my right arm , lower or higher my right hand the automatically swing then hitting . Too many steps to hit the ball for winning one point. Now I tried and won some points by this tip which surprised my opponent and my team partner and MYSELF

great video! and i do think the other reason for the split step is so that if the ball is way to your left or right, it gives you the split second to put the opposite foot down so you can start moving in that direction quickly, rather than having to lift up your foot. you just don't bring that foot down at the end of your split step.

Split step timing never changes. No matter the situation. The timing is based off of our brain’s reaction time which never changes. Thanks!

Thx for your videos! How would you go about to hit a drop voley?
@paddlepower888
@paddlepower888 2 жыл бұрын
If you let the ball hit the racket, rather than hitting the ball, the ball will push the racket and drop almost right below the contract point. As you increase the resistance to the ball, it will land further in front of you. The more you resist, the further forward it will land. Play with it, varying your distance from the net and the speed of the ball hit to you. Happy hitting!
