This is a story that's as old as the rap industry itself. You making money is not for you to take care of other people who refuse to work. Rappers from Hammer to Fetty Wap have lost it all by supporting their thankless entourages. Support yourself and the closest adults who raised you. Everyone else can go get their own job.

Where a lot of these hip hop producers get it fucked up is that they are not very versatile in the shit they produce. Back in the day Timbaland, Dark Child, Neptunes, Scott Storch, Kanye, etc could make beats for Jay Z or Ludacris one moment and then make a beat for Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, or Britney Spears the next moment. These dudes were getting hip hop checks, R&B checks and pop checks. When you have your hand in so many pies your royalty money adds up. Hit Boy is talented enough out of this generation of producers where he should be doing other shit in different genres.

@@bigbob3337 No they're not. Not at the frequency the older producers did. Most producers stay in their lane unless you're one of the bigger non hip hop producers like Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Red One, etc who go from pop, to rock, to pop rock, etc. The last hip hop producer that was doing a lot of R&B and Hip Hop intertangled consistently was DJ Mustard and all of his beats were the same shit.

Realest Lesson for Everybody! Take care of Yourself FIRST. Only give out when you have everything taken care of and are cool with expecting nothing back. It may sound a bit selfish but it's just the way it is. This was a tough lesson for me to learn. Nobody else in this world will take care of you.
@GrinerB

The reality is, the music contracts are just really horrible loans.. if they give you $5 million, you basically have to earn them $30+ million before you repay that $5 and start actually “earning” anything… Once upon a time labels did so much only they could do, there was some justification…. But since like 2010, labels won’t touch you unless you’ve already proved you don’t need them, which is weird how so many people still wind up signing these deals that make it impossible for them to profit off their own music… Drake is honestly an example of how prolific a hit maker you have to be to be in a bad deal and still personally make a ton… nobody else is Drake.

What I learned in Life, ay 51 yrs old. Family, Friends who Always Need help & have their Hand out... Will Always be just that. Waiting for hand outs. You give 99 percent & that ONE TIME you say No?? Oh... Now you ain't ish, this that, whatever. What I've learned is to find Associates who are doing better than you, can mentor you... Once you Elevate to their Level...then you LEVEL UP & find even More successful, empathetic, stable minded people who care about you. Keep climbing & Those that helped Elevate you that you have succeeded will Also LEVEL UP with you so everyone is getting money, having success & since they're level-minded, caring individuals they ain't going to lie or sugarcoat ish to you.
