I am glad I got to see Neil Young in Minneapolis last week doing his solo concert. I wish I could of seen him live in the 60's when he was at his rawest form.

LENOISE IS THE ALBUM- ALL SONGS WERE DONE SOLO. FANTASTIC PRODUCER. THIS IS LIVE OBVIOUSLY=DO NOT KNOW WHERE. STILL IT COMES FROM THE SINGULAR MOST CREATIVE ARTIST ALIVE. BE TRUE TO YOURSELF. HOW LUCKY HE HAS BEEN. HARD WORK!!!!

It is actually "Smoked Through a Pen" I think it's pretty clear in this version. Plus the lyrics are printed in Le Noise, for which he finally recorded this song.

we used to smoke hash through pen barrels back in Canada in the 60s, so it makes perfect sense this way.

It's hard to top the "original", this is a great version for sure...As far as the LeNoise version, I think it misses the mark. I saw Neil do this a few months back on his solo tour. I had been listening to a good copy of the show and I think it was done so much better than what's on the album...not just this song either.
