It's kind of cool rewatching this video when rekrap's pb with speedrunning was 52 minutes, now all the way down to sub 13. The progress made over two years is hecking astounding o7

10:02 There’s a much weirder way to solve this that I learned about recently: Walls! Set up a 3x1 pillar of walls as high as you want the signal to go. Place an observer looking at the middle wall on the top. Then, place a sticky piston 3 blocks away from the bottom wall, facing the pillar. Put a wall on it, and bam! Whenever the piston activates, it pushes the wall so that it’s next to the stack, changing the appearance of every wall in the stack in a single frame. The observer at the top picks up the block state change, and your signal has been moved up. Can’t remember if it works going downwards.
