His hitting path is pretty amazing. Looks similar to HLP. But I really loves how he teaches it.

Matt, it seems like you're promoting her hanging back on her right foot (aka squish the bug). I understand that you want her staying behind the ball and it's obvious she's turning the barrel deeper, but I would think you wouldn't get maximum power by swinging behind the rear leg.

Squishing the bug is perfectly fine as long as it’s a product of a proper back leg load then push off that leg. The problem with squishing the bug is when it’s done just to be done and not creating any drive. That’s what a lot of kids do. They lunge and get weight forward but still manage to squish the bug. It’s a fake out snd that’s the problem.

@@MAF83580 Right - Squishing the bug is just a hip joint movement. It's not a body rotation. It's just turning the knee in. I argued with a dad once, all pro players squish the bug, it's just how it's done! :)

Mr. Antonelli how are you Sir ? Really enjoy your videos my daughter is 11 her and I are working on her swing wanted to know what size PVC you would recommend for these drills in length she’s about 5’2, any info we would appreciate it thanks!

At 5:20 in your video, you are explaining the quickness of the hip turn while in load position. Do you feel this action can be enhanced by exercising the "twitch" muscles? If so, do you have any specific exercises that can help?

At 7:30 which side is the better swing?

the left side is the swing after instruction. if you stop it at contact on the left you will see the top hand moving up and the chest tilting back in resistance

In general l like what you teach, but in this drill it looks a lot like Richard schrenk (teacherman) advocates. I not only find his personality to be abrasive and off putting, l also don’t agree with his hitting philosophy. Are you a proponent of what he teaches? If not how do you differ?
