Oh wow, what a beautiful line! There's so much to see like beautiful hills/mountains with abundant vegetation, lots of idyllic villages...and those deserted beaches, like hidden gems. What was really cool is the speed of the train, guess it was traveling 120-130 km/h at some sections, plus I loved the sound of the diesel engine when the driver accelerated. All in all, a very entertaining and enjoyable video. Gonna re-watch this again later. Thank you so much this great video. この素晴らしいビデオをどうもありがとうございました。私はすべての瞬間を楽しんだ。
Could you please tell the maximum speed of this train?

Serious question. I see the person who is driving the train, repeatedly, point to something. I am an American, and have no idea what he is pointing to (he does it a lot). Also, these videos give us (here in America) the opportunity to see the country side/city/minor areas. Very nice videos, thank you for posting !!

Look up "Pointing and calling" on Wikipedia. He is pointing at the next signal and calling out its indication (stop/go, etc.).

16:29 Haha, I thought there was something off about the station name! I was thinking "where do I know えいわ from? Oh yeah, it's 'English language'! Hang on, surely not... yeah, the kanji (英和) are correct! English language! That's a weird name for a place!". Turns out it's just the wrong Kanji - it should be 永和. 😆

It's called "pointing and calling", a safety method for avoiding mistakes. It's a standard thing in Japan. There are studies that show it's a good method for avoiding accidents or mistakes. It keeps the driver alert. Google for more information if you like to know more.
